And some question it is thawing temperatures? Why pretend it is warm enough there for what the Gardian article presents.

Do you see the Gaurdian stated "extraordinary tempertures over the winter"?

You've shown us 2016 - 2017. Now show us 2015 - 2016 to let us see the temperature change between those two years.
It's not that hard a request to answer.

Perhaps you should have gone to the source itself. The Crop Trust, who are involved with the Global Seed Bank, have issued a press release outlining the improvements being made to the seed bank to prevent further ingress of permafrost meltwater, and Statsbygg, who operate the seed bank, are prepared to answer questions about it:

The seed vault is owned by the Norwegian government and administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (LMD). Statsbygg is responsible for the administration of the physical installation and the technical operation of the vault. You seem to be implying that the freeze/thaw event just occurred. It didn't. The timeline scenario presented is misleading and completely irrelevant.

“This fall—October 2016—we had extreme weather in Svalbard with high temperatures and a lot of rain—very unusual. This caused water intrusion into the tunnel leading to the seed vault. There it is! As Hess would say, when basic "data" like this is ignored (as in, the actual month the article was talking about!), and 'alternative facts' are paraded around the forum with such passion, I'm thinking shares must be involved. Hess, the guy who rants about objective data, and then ignores it for all it's worth!

Born-and-raised in Norway here: Anyone living in Norway can see the effects of rising temperatures over the last decades. Oslo hardly gets any snow in the winter anymore. Trees grow at altitudes where 30 years ago no tree could grow. The arctic limit for forests is constantly pushed further to the north. We do not need any news outlet (fake or real) to tell us this, as we can see it with our own eyes

This article really is fear mongering clickbait. The vault is built with some melting water in mind, and in fact, there is some of that during most summers.

There are enough true indicators of global warming, I don't think this is one of them.
