  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In the New Testament we find three quotes from Habbakuk 2:4. Here they are:
1-Romans 1:17 ...as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
2-Galatians 3:11 ...The just shall live by faith.
3-Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith...

How shall we understand that term, "the just shall live by faith?" We must go to the ORIGINAL source and find its meaning.

Habakkuk 2:4 from 13 translations:
...but the righteous will live by his faith. NIV, NASB
...but the righteous shall live by his faith. RSV
...but the just shall live by his faith. KJV, NKJ, DBY
...And the righteous by his stedfastness liveth. YLT
...but the one who is innocent will be preserved by his integrity. NET
...but the righteous live by their faith. NRSV
...but the upright man will have life through his good faith. BBE
...but the righteous will live by their faith. NLT
...but the righteous shall live by his faith. ASV
...but those who are righteous will live because they are faithful to God. TEV

The last one was the most clear, wasn't it? Do you know that the word "faith" is only used twice in all the Old Testament? Both times it really means "faithful." Let's look at the only other place where "faith" appears in the KJV OT.

Deuteronomy 32:20
...children in whom is no faith. KJV, NKJV, BBE
...children who are unfaithful. NIV
...children in whom is no faithfulness. RSV, DBY, ASV, WEB
...Sons in whom is no stedfastness. YLT
...children in whom there is no faithfulness. NRSV
...those stubborn, unfaithful people. TEV
...Sons in whom is no faithfulness. NASB "Faith" means faithful in the Hebrew scriptures.
