Ephesians Two:
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Do we grow in Grace whereby we increase Faith,
or must we add to Faith to have more Grace?
Second Peter
One:
5
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence,
add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control
perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness,
and to brotherly kindness love.

Three:
18
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

NOW Faith.
Many talk often about Grace, Faith, and Salvation, without this knowledge.
Now Faith is in the moment, and the only Faith that can be confirmed in a believer is made evident by the Grace they access in that moment.
In other words, whatever circumstances you will face TODAY, the Grace needed to overcome is by definition already available, but you must access it by faith. If you do not, you will fall in the face of that trial, and have to get back up with the mustard seed faith that remains and continue forward.
You must add to your faith, to access MORE GRACE

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things,
ye shall never fall:

Faith is a gift (Php 1:29, Ac 13:48, 18:27, 1 Pe 1:1, Ro 12:3) which does not originate with man.

It is the result of the new birth (Jn 3:3-5) by the sovereign Holy Spirit, who is as unaccountable as the wind (Jn 3:6-8).

Faith, itself, is a gift of grace, but, as with the other virtues of hope and love, we must embrace, express, and "invest" that gift, that grace, in which case they grow. Either way, grace precedes everything in our walk with God as we think of grace as more than favor but as God's life, the work and operation of the Holy Spirit, in us.

You present well the Grace of Salvation.
What the OP is presenting from the apostolic doctrine is the grace for today,
to walk in victory as an overcomer today.

The Missing Ingredient:
James Four:
6
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:
“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”
Hebrews Eleven: One
Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 Peter 1:
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren
nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off,
and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:
for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting
kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

A lot can be overlooked by only responding to the title of a thread.

But is there a difference? Isn't the daily picking up our cross part of salvation? Ss per Rom 6:22, for example?

But is there a difference? Isn't the daily picking up our cross part of salvation? Ss per Rom 6:22, for example?
That difference is clearly laid out. We access "more Grace" by the now Faith available today in Christ.
Not the same as hearing the Gospel and believing. It is overcoming in the face of daily trail. This Grace is clearly stated to be accessed by faith. The only possible debate is our faith? or the faith of Christ? If that question is not clear to you, the faith that is found in Christ implies the mutual faith of believers as they edify one another in love.
This is a widely ignored Truth. The gifts of the Spirit we receive are for the edification of the Body. Therefore, the strength today is beyond ourselves, and is found in the beloved brethren, not a me and Jesus walk.
Romans 6:22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
A wonderful verse that adds no clarity to a discussion of the relationship to Now Faith and the Grace for Today. The Grace that maintains that liberty from sin is new every morning. Yesterday's Grace does not guarantee for overcoming Today's difficulties. We must die daily, to live victoriously. In humility, we access more Grace, acknowledging that our sufficiency for today is never of ourselves.
"Sufficient for the day is the troubles thereof."
If you heard His Voice yesterday and have not responded, will He repeat Himself today?
For how long before the inevitable.
Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

I see. Yes, the more we exercise faith, the more grace results or grows.
Yes, and in the list of what we are to "add to Faith", we see a Christian's character that must begin to manifest in our walk, lest we be found reprobates. This culminates in an "unfeigned love for the brethren".
It might even make you a cry baby, as I have been called that often. The compassion of Christ makes it very difficult for me to hear about the suffering of the afflicted, but we are comforted by the Promise of the Father that they will be avenged.

Actually, it is the effect of our salvation.

No picking up our cross indicates no salvation.

Actually, It's the effect of our justification. We remain just and live accordingly to the extent that we remain in Him. Righteousness and salvation cannot be separated. We can lose our state of justice, in other words, and therefore our salvation, by living unjustly which means we've failed to remain in Him

Justification is a declaration by God of one's righteousness, acquittal of guilt as a result of salvation (remission of sin) through faith.

One does not lose that salvation and justification.

And what is it on day two of a Christian's walk?
Matthew 12:37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

James 3:
8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men,
who have been made in the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?
12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?
Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

James 1:19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak...

Jesus was born, lived, preached and died under the Old Covenant, which is now obsolete (Heb 8:13).

The NT reveals that justification is by faith (Ro 3:28).
Your words (and deeds) reveal whether you are justified or not.
