Faith and mental illness

I suffer with depression which caused psychosis according doctors. I hear voices in my head and I have anxiety attacks. The joy of the Lord is my strength. We walk by faith not sight which means that we dont look at our hardship which is temporary but we look at eternal things instead.

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous ISpirit.

Sometimes I talk to myself. It's a way I deal with anxiety I think.

Some depression and anxiety can worsen with a lack of a feeling of control. Sometimes a hobby or an activity like tennis or volunteer work can make a dent in both.
