I just sent my angry professor a three page rough draft of a fifteen page paper. It was due on Friday. I feel so crappy right now. Has anyone else picked themselves up out of a hole like mine? I need encouraging words right now. I feel like a failure.

talk to your prof -- seriously. they may seem intimidating but they can be flexible. you might not have failed that paper.

I'm behind on about 4 or 5 paper at the moment so I probably can't be of too much other than to let you know your not alone.

dude... just dont focus too much on that one assingment hell im 2 weeks behind in my classes and im lookin at a d as of now.. but that just makes me work harder on future assignments and test. whats your major? mines journalism

Not recently, but when I went through depression in my first year of college, I did a lot of things like that. It is just one small thing -- it won't be a big deal in the future. It is only a big deal to you right now. You'll be OK.

I've been in tight fixes, but nothing like that. I have started on research papers late but I have been lucky enough to be able to get them done though. Do not look at the big picture right now, look at what you need to do today and only today. That is the only way I can get though challenges such as your own.

You haven't failed until you've given up. Keep in communication with the prof. Dig deep and just get it finished.

This sort of thing has happened to me before, and this is just my first semester/year at college ever. The first year, especially if you are overloaded with five courses (that's too much of a load for me), can be pretty depressing or highly difficult. The good news is that if you try a lot harder (and I am, but I'm not perfect), you will almost certainly get B's at the least. I got a C grade for English 101 this semester. It's humiliating for me, because my parents look down upon anything lower than a B, and they don't even know of my grade yet. To be honest, I'd rather get by without having to tell them, but that's not really possible. I'll have to face whatever disappointment/anger they will express.
