So anyway, I shared a photo that said "Marriage= One Man, One Woman". A gay man later defriended/blocked me over it and asked me "If I were to attend my brother's wedding if he was married to a man" (Of course not!).

Why is is that politics ALWAYS seems to bring out the worst in people? It's AWFUL. Sigh...

because marriage is between man and woman..always will be .

the world is worldly ..it is not Godly and i dont expect it to be .its a temporal state that will be destroyed .
pray many more in it will turn from it unto the lord Jesus and be saved.
we cant judge them before he returns, we can only long in love for them to be saved. because that judgment which comes if terrifying and eternal and comes swiftly now .

One of my professors has talked about how discretion in vocalizing political and religious views used to be a social etiquette. Those with social graces would consider their setting and how the people they're talking with and those within earshot around them might react before launching the contentious topic, and then make a judgement call as to whether it would be likely to create a thoughtful discussion or a heated debate that would accomplish nothing of value. It wasn't about censorship but courtesy. He said that we've gone from considering it poorly mannered to continuously air polarizing personal views about politics and religion in social gatherings to feeling like we need to publicize all of them on social media where we're even less able to assess the audience and how they'll react. I don't think Facebook is poison at all. I think that instead of people getting into heated disagreements at pubs they duke it out in comments. It's the same old same old, just with new technology.

I got on - saw a lot of friends putting rainbows over their profile pics and saw all those posts and i left.
I'm trying so hard not to lose it.. for they know not what they do... and now im struggling against anger.
But my anger is not displaced if i solely focus on the sin and not the sinners...
I equally loathe abortion.
I have been offering up Masses to destroy abortion and gay marriage in this country.
We need more prayer warrior... more offerings...

I pity everyone - but im not sure i can further use FB right now until this garbage settles down.
Im trying to bite my tongue and be as patient as i can - so i need to just walk away for some time.
I seldom find myself so upset - but when it happens - i have to walk away, think, reflect and let patience and peace overcome me again...

I, however am not biting my tongue. I don't have anger, but I am even more geared up to dismantle the lies of the devil and homosexuality, and spread the Truth of the Creator and His creation.

I was raised with that etiquette... It's how people came to hide God's light under a bushel basket, rather than put it on a lampstand. It is what is trying to be forced on us now... but God was clear... Jesus said we are to let His light shine... We are not to 'be ashamed of the Word of God' or 'in that day the Lord also will be ashamed of us'... if we turn away from His Word, He also will turn us away.
The devil has had his free reign for too long, while the people of God have been 'being polite'... being politically correct.

I choose carefully what I post on FB. I treat it a bit like I do the things I say in the staff lounge at school. There's a time and a place for everything and I try to be careful on FB to consider first my motivation for posting any controversial issue and second, I ask if such a post fits with the reasons I'm on FB in the first place: to stay in touch with family members and friends.
I made a few mistakes with several of my FB posts and was "unfriended" by several "friends." Hmmmm, no more politics on FB for me. There are plenty of places to share my views in a variety of forums. Now on FB I'll post what I'm having for supper and no one gets upset.

You can let your light shine bright without it being a flashlight you're pointing directly into someone's eyes. Instead of illuminating Christ, and letting His light radiate through your actions which reflect His teachings, that antic only causes people to cover their eyes in protection from the harsh glare. When they can see clearly again after that flash, they just see you and not Him.

It's about grace, not political correctness.

Not because of being unfriended - but i cant be bothered with drama.. and fighting.
It causes contention and arguments and it changes friendships.

SO i walked away to wait for a cooling off. Until ppl take the rainbows down - i wont be liking their posts or commenting... so i have to stay out. That's how i deal with stuff like hot topics on FB.

I enjoy Facebook. Facebook for me is my family and friends around the world. Keeping in touch, sharing photos, being updated on the important things that are happening in the lives of others while we're all so far apart. I open FB first thing in the morning to see what my loved ones are doing, and we celebrate the day together in a variety of ways. IMO, it's one of the best inventions of the 21st century.
