Ok, I just got done playing the single and multiplayer demos for F.E.A.R and they both present a pretty good game.
Single player was amazing, the graphics were amazing and the gameplay itself, while not offering anything particularly innovative, was fluid and engaging. The atmosphere of the game is very dark and spooky. This game isnt for people who are squeamish, dont like cursing and blood, and who dont like to be scared by thier games. The AI is great, soldiers will actually hide and take cover rather than just charge at you blasting. The environment is incredibly versitile and destructable, offering excelent possibilites during a tight firefight.
My one complaint is that enemies often times hide in the dark and are perfectly able to see you when you might not be able to see them. This means you can only see them and shoot at them when they are shooting or moving. Switching on a flash-light is like painting a target on yourself.
I would have put a third person camera in the game and had a greater variety of weapons, but other than that, its an amazing FPS.
Mutliplayer is a bit....lacking. Multiplayer is fast-paced and it tends to turn into a punch-fest rather than a fire-fight. The maps are expansive but often times they offer a cramped playing field of confined spaces that makes it difficult to move a group through or to have a real firefight.
Overall, this game is EXTREMELY good and Id reccomend it to any gamer
Interestingly enough, there is a character in the game named Leo Jankowski. For those of you who have played Deus Ex 2, this name will sound familiar
