Mine is my dearly departed ginger ninja cockroach killer who died from liver cancer at 13-1/2 years. Sadly missed. He would hover over me when I had my breakfast cereal and I had to leave some milk in the bottom of the bowl for him to lick out. He would be ready for me to finish my evening meal so he could lick the plate clean.

Very sorry for your loss! :(

I lost my "son" recently (black cat), and it was devastating.

But as my pastor is fond of saying: "This too shall pass."

My "son" another black cat takes no nonsense from a 6 ft+ individual in a typical kangaroo combat stance prepared to hold its ground.

Bad luck I didn't have a video as seconds later the kangaroo was in full flight pursued by the cat!

Yes a common denominator can be found between opposites.
My cat (appropriately called Satan by the cat rescue vet) broke all the rules when confronting an alpha male kangaroo.
The experts claim when confronted by such beasts one needs to exhibit passive behaviour or this can happen.

Cats are amazingly brave!

It's a pretty good tactic for a small animal. Larger animals know that cats are crazy brave and consider whether or not the payoff is worth the possible damage. Often, it's not. Not long ago, I saw a video of a cat successfully standing off three coyotes, each of which appeared to want one of the others to make the first move at the cat, who would periodically intimidate the closest one.

EDIT: The owner said that when he opened the door, the cat calmly walked in as though there had been no confrontation.

I suppose you've seen the video of a cat body-slamming a dog who attacked a boy:
After knocking the dog away, the cat glances at the kid to be sure he's O.K., and then takes off after the dog.
