• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I must be the only one who read the OP as not being birther motivated. I just saw a bunch of posters overreact, filled with political tension during election year jump on it :p The OP admits that Obama is a US citizen.

But understandably so, there has been a lot of flak flying around about his birth certificate and sensationalism about it. Again, I wait for something official to happen (no the arizona thing isn't official yet, they haven't been able to prove anything yet.) I didn't vote for him, and I won't this time around either, but I won't demonize him heh.

What I find most interesting is that, despite my acknowledgement that he is an American citizen, everyone still felt the need to defend his story that he was born in Hawaii. Veddy int-t-t-t'resting.

By the way, thanks for the laughs. I posted this to get the liberals all riled up.

If you post something that's false, should we just sit back and allow someone to spread misinformation? Saying, "he still would have been a citizen", is still calling him a liar, since he was born in Hawaii. I expect this from some repubs, but you're way to smart to still be falling for fairy tales. But, if slander is the only way the GOP has a chance at winning, good luck! I suppose good, sound policy ideas are overrated. I guess that explains why Romney dosent have any. ;)

That poster does it all the time. A pattern is set using the same ole jig, like duplicating a key, the original is used to make a copy. And that is why GOP types have no new ideas or leadership. my thought. :)

It's not false. It was a mockup for the book cover, for a book that never got published. To the best of the publicist's knowledge, the information was true. And you say this as though Democrats don't often deliberately post stuff like this, knowing its at least in question if not an outright lie.

Sheez, I go for the laugh and everyone is a downer. Sorry you guys can't take a joke.

We'll see, won't we? (BTW, I didn't "fall" for anything. From the start I said, basically, "I don't believe this." Maybe Democrats don't think Republicans have a sense of humor. I got a great one! ^_^

^_^. This is really a minor issue, but you keep trying to spin this like you didn't blatantly insinuate that you believe he was born over seas. Here's what you wrote:

I don't doubt that he is a US citizen. Being born to an American mother abroad does not negate his citizenship in the US. But why not just admit it? He seemed proud of it 20 years ago.

Maybe it was a joke, maybe it wasent. Maybe we're all hyper-sensitive after 5 years of this constant disrespect of this man, who knows. Point is, your statement was written to suggest you were fine accepting he was a us citizen but still not born where he said he was born.

There's no doubt dems, repubs and everyone in between, post false and misleading topics. I however am only responsible for my posts and I do try to post with integrity. That's not a blind swipe at you or anything of the sort, I'm just saying.

I know you have a good sense of humor and if that's truly what this was, you missed the mark by a mile. Happens to the best of us. You posted it to get a reaction and you got what you asked for. Don't complain, take a bow. :D

If the president thinks it's fair to accuse Romney of the 1857 mormon massacre and asks Romney to detail his involvement (through his ancestors), then surely BHO can release details of how he received his scholarships?

There is little doubt now that BHO claimed to be Kenyan, why are liberals so up in arms about it? Why are conservatives tiptoeing around it? Facts are Facts.

Do people think that BHO is now vulnerable to such revelations? After BHO confessed much worse in his autobiography, calling himself a “bum” who abused drugs (p138)? After getting away with such ridiculous fabrications as the nine-month-pregnant flying mother, now he's somehow vulnerable? I don't see how?

He could keep an enemies list and use government agencies to persecute those enemies and people would let him get away with it. He could order assassinations and nobody would question him. He is completely invulnerable. He has carte blanche to do anything he wants with impunity. He has more power than any king.

No, not more power than a king because Obama will only serve 8 years.

I'm just watching to see who God will put in charge.
The joke HE plays on those who consider themselves Reps and Dems instead of children of Him is what I find most interesting........

PROVERBS I : 26

I didn't say he wasn't born in the U.S., I said his book-cover claim of Kenyan birth is an unchangeable fact. I said his story of a 9-month pregnant mother flying from Kenya to Hawaii just in time to give birth is ridiculous. Those are facts. Facts are facts.

Now go ahead and change the story to fit those facts. Don't worry, with the help of the media, the public seems to have an unlimited capacity to accept any nonsense coming from the left. Any story fitting the facts should do.

Depends on which definition of joke one uses.

Synonyms
1. wisecrack, gag, jape, prank, quip, quirk, sally, raillery. Joke, jest refer to something said (or done) in sport, or to cause amusement. A joke is something said or done for the sake of exciting laughter; it may be raillery, a witty remark, or a prank or trick: to tell a joke. Jest, today a more formal word, nearly always refers to joking language and is more suggestive of scoffing or ridicule than is joke : to speak in jest.

Does God laugh?

I also will laugh at your calamity

Will God mock?

I will mock when your fear cometh ;

Did God create the joke?

The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Probably wont feel like a joke when the punch line takes effect, though.

Thanks for the welcome.

Your most welcome.

Boy, you're really stringing those passages together to make a point. Here I can do it too. Watch!

(1 Cor. 6:12)"All things are available unto, a man who joins flesh with a harlot.(1 Cor. 6:16) ". Dangerous practice huh?

Try as you might, I'm sorry sister but, it still dosent make it true. When you find a passage that says "God made a joke", I'll believe you. ;)
