Experiences with God

Has anyone had experiences where God has spoken to them. A number of people have claimed to be meditating or praying or even driving where they have actually had a conversation with Jesus. These are not just claims and have actually changed people lives.

Is this just a case of Jesus choosing to talk to you or is there anything we can do to open ourselves up to him, to hear him and recieve his wisdom?

It's interesting to hear this.. the bible says that angels themselves even close their wings over their face when they're standing infront of our Saviour... and for a sinful man to say that he had direct contact with God and talked with Him makes me ask a lot of questions. I do believe in angel intervention as a mediator, but not direct contact.

Honestly no. I have had experiences where I sense His hand clearly in events, but I have not had an ocassion where I know for a fact that a divine voice has come to me.

Do the "religious experinces" (or whatever name is used) caused as a result of drugs like LSD or Psylocybin have any real meaning or are they considered just hallucinations directed towards faith?

I do believe that God speaks to people.

I remember one occasion when a guy claimed to have heard jesus speak to him.
In this case the man said jesus had told him that the lord regarded him in higher esteem than himself.
If that doesn't make sense: Jesus values us more than himself.

This sounds absolutely crazy, but the man tested the voice and he asked for 3 scriptures in the bible for proof of this.
I can't remember what they are now but it seemed very real.

I still can't believe that the lord would value me higher than himself. No way.
But if it is true then just how much does the Lord love us???????
This could have been an angel messenger.

I'm sorry.....I thought the point of Christ's crufixation was because he valued us more than himself........and I think that he wants us to do the same....

hmmm....there is a scripture that says this but I can't find it right now.

And yes, he walked with Enoch, best friends with Abraham, talked face to face with Moses, spoke out of the storm to Elijah, spoke to Paul on the road to Damascus...I think the list may be going on today.
