Not saying that at all. You can't distinguish between reality and shadow. An attack in ancient times, mentioned by Hosea because Israel trusted in the wrong partner, was the 'shadow' of the zealots asking for the Nabateans to help in the Jewish revolt (the reality of the most decisive generation in Israel, ever), to break the perimeter of control which Rome had on the east Mediterranean. Such effort in the name of the God of Israel was completely wrong-headed for what God wanted Israel to be--missionaries--along with others who would join in.
There is no mistake about the Corinthian passage referring to the 3 days nor to the victory over death. Imagine that: 'rising in 3 days' and 'victory over death' from OT lines in one and the same chapter. He was on a roll!
