LOL really? I was told 4-7 max. My mom'll be thrilled, she almost had a heart attack when I told her my biggest tree frog could do 30.Daughter of His said:We used to have tiger salmanders. They can live about 15 years !
I do too, its fun. I guess that kinda destroys its natural survival instinct by now having it hunt itself, but its in captivity anyways. I use crickets and occassionally earth worms, what did you use?Daughter of His said:We could hand feed ours.
Yeah, I tried newts once, they didn't work, thats why I went to tree frogs. The newts though were ones I got for like $4 each at a specialized aquarium store so they probably weren't the highest quality.Daughter of His said:We also have firebelly newts and they are low maintence pets for sure. You can feed them once or twice a week and leave them for two weeks at a time and they are fine, we've had them going on ten years. It's amazing they have their own distinct personalities.
Oh yeah? Hmm I'll have to keep that in mind, thanks. I keep a bowl of water in my tiger salamander's cage and he spends ALL his time in it, I feel thats unnatural since they're burrowers. Maybe I'll try otk eep his moss really wet and see if he'll burrow.Daughter of His said:If you get a marbled salamander (we did once) they really have to stay moist. Unfortunately, it did not last long and I felt badly about that because I didn't tend to it properly and he was so beautiful. Should have left him in the wild. I still prefer my dog but my son was into herpetiles for years, I said no to the snake request.
