  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"because you are a stiffnecked people".
God had just about given up on the Israelites. He was fuming after the Golden calf incident.
I find this chapter very interesting because Moses is almost cheeky, insubordinate. And God seems to have like a human side. So angry, so disappointed.
Are we encouraged to talk to God like Moses did here? Because he is pointing the finger at God. I admire His courage to do so. And the end result is good. God relents and decides to stay with His people, His chosen people.
But there is a change, isn't there. "you may only see me from behind, not face to face anymore". The relationship has changed it seems. Between God and Moses. between God and the Israelites.

.........all because of Israeli (Hebrew; Jewish) failure, reluctance, indifference to 1. The Abrahamic Covenant, 2. The inability to comply with the Mosaic Covenant (God teaching them a lesson), and 3. Their rejection of Jesus as their very own Messiah.

What happened?

The Cross; Acts 9.
