I can only speak for myself of course, and I was a fairly standard German protestant - read: Born into the christian society, thus considered myself a christian. By your definition, I guess I never was one.jlujan69 said:My question is this, given this understanding of true conversion in Christianity, is there anyone who meets the above criteria and has then forsaken (or replaced) it for another faith? If so, I'm just wondering why?

It is true that only a very few find the true attitude, and correct beliefs in the Christian world sanaa. I'll be honest and say that I have met a few christians who could have turned me off christianity completely. But, they didn't succeed.sanaa said:now we will hear that missionaries / pastors are not real christians either. anyone who crowncaster does not approve of is not a real christian
Yes. Me.is there anyone who meets the above criteria and has then forsaken (or replaced) it for another faith?
Short, short, short version: God didn't match up with the Bible's often immoral description of him.If so, I'm just wondering why?
I don't think so.CrownCaster said:definate violation of the rules.

I don't expect you to posess any insight into these things. Big difference between people leaving a pagan religion to join with Jesus. That is how it is supposed to work. People that leave Jesus and do not return were not ever His in the first place. They were just playing church.sanaa said:oh please!!!!!! he was a christian . u dont have any authority to decide whos a real christian and whos not . just becoz he walked away he was never a real christian .... ya right. so i could say the same about people who convert into christianity from other religions. they were never real hindus or real muslims . if they were they would have never walked away. that man was an adult devout orthodox christian for many many years
What is wrong with you? You need counseling.sanaa said:o u mean i will confess Jesus is Lord right before my knees are broken and tounge ripped out and Jesus throws me into the lake of fire to burn and scream in torture and misery for eternity without any chance of a repreive , even tho 400000 trillion years have gone by .!!! ofcourse i would confess He is Lord then. i would have NO CHOICE. just like a woman has no choice but to say yes to the rapist when he has a gun to her head or a knife to her thigh

I feel ashamed of the way some of them act.
I will let the mods decide that since I have already reported it.tocis said:I don't think so.

Would you please elaborate how my posting of that URL, within the context of my posting, constitutes "primarily promoting"? Someone asked a question, and as far as I can tell this URL can help him find answers. I'm sorry if this upsets you.
Would this be a 'No True Scotsman' argument? Someone doesn't fit into your experience of what a Christian should be, so therefore they were never a Christian? No offensive, just trying to understand this type of argument.CrownCaster said:I don't expect you to posess any insight into these things.
