To Believe In The Theory Of Evolution You Have To Believe That We Started Out As Single Cell Organisms And Later Formed Into Something Else And Something Else Etc. Etc. Biblically It Says In Genesis That We Were Created In The Image Of God, And To Create Eve He Took A Rib From Adams Chest, So The Two Obviously Contradict Each Other. But What Are Your Views.

So what?

Can you not capitalise every single word, please? A capital is used to mark the beginning of a sentence, a pronoun or proper noun.

It makes it very hard to read.
Here's a more in depth guide to capitalization.

The following have their first letter capitalized:
The first word of a sentence
Names of the days of the week, months of the year
The pronoun I
Names, including initials, of individuals
Titles which precede names
All names of holidays (excluding any prepositions)
The first word and all nouns in a salutation
The first word in the complimentary closing of a letter
Family relationship names when they precede a name or are used in place of person's name, especially in direct address
All words in the names of specific organizations and agencies excluding prepositions, conjunctions, and articles
Names of languages
Names of definite sections of a country or the world
Names of nationalities
Names of religions and deities
Adjectives formed from names of geographical locations, languages, races, nationalities, and religions
The first word and all the words in titles of books, articles, works of art, etc. excluding short prepositions, conjunctions, and articles

Err...what are "blessings" and "reputation"?

I searched the forums...can someone give a quick reply to it?

Reputation is recieved when someone clicks on that little thumbs up next to your AIM icon and approves of a post. You get 1 blessing from each post and you need them to do a lot of the extras on the forums. games, pets, rpg?, etc. You can buy blessings if you want too, I think it's like 100 blessings for a $.01.

Sometimes its sad to see the maturity of some people. So when you get offended or caught off guard by something you pick on the person that delivered it in your direction, rather than doing whats supposed to be done and answer it.
Sometimes it doesn't matter if things are capitalized wrong, but thats just me.:priest:

It's common courtesy, that's all. If you want someone to read what you write, then make an attempt at proper grammar. Honest spelling mistakes are made by everybody. But Capitalizing Every Freakin Word Makes It So You Have To Focus On Every Word Individually.

That aside, in answer to your OP. No, Evolution does NOT contradict the Bible, it is not the religion that is incorrect, but the interpretation. As lucaspas signature quaintly puts it "if the bible seems to contradict what nature shows us, it is not nature that's in error, but our interpretation" or something like that.

Ok, here, I'll give the standard response.

The theory of evolution does not describe how life originated, it just describes a genetic change for successive generations of a species over time, which, through natural selection, resulted in the emergance of new species. Now, of course, you have to get life started before evolution can take place, but the theory of evolution does not cover that area of science. You shouldn't pin spontaneous generation to the evolutionary theory, it's an entirely different thing. Also, to the people who make the claim that abiogenesis has a 1/103128094719824701924 chance of occuring or whatever, they must realize that modern abiogenesis and spontaneous generation are different as well.

Well, a literal bible also makes the absurd claim that a flood covered the entire Earth 4,400 years ago, geological sciences have proved without a shadow of a doubt that this did NOT happen. To compensate the bible's many erroneous, immoral, and contradictory claims, many Christians state that the bible must be interpereted differently from how it is written. They believe that Christ's central message still stands, but the bible was obviously not God's own words, but may still have been inspired, and it's man's nature to make mistakes.

What does it mean that we were created in God's image? Does it mean that we physically look like God? Or does this line refer to something less obvious?

To me, the part about Eve and Adam's rib says more about how a man is incomplete without a woman, than it says about where the first female human came from.

Does the word "zygote" mean anything to you? :)

LiterallyBiblically it says that. But that flies in the face of just about everything we've ever observed in the natural world.

So perhaps literally is not the way to read it?

Dr. Zygote - The evolution-obsessed Zygote was encountered by Max and crew during his attempt to "reset time" by de-evolving everything back to primordial goo and starting over. During the encounter, Zygote turned Max's iguana into a dinosaur but ended up evolving himself into a large-brained floating creature. After his escape, Max again foiled his plans when the doctor attempted to process the DNA of a psychic teenager. The encounter left Zygote evolved even further into a floating ball of light, at which point he cared nothing for evolution - only for the beauty and music of the universe.

It all depends on your intereptation. If you study what the people who wrote the bible would have known, then you can guess with pretty good certainty what they meant when they wrote it. (I.E., they thought the earth was flat, therefore thats what they wrote in the bible)
Christopher Columbus discovered that the earth was round in 1492, but the Jewish prophet Isaiah recorded this fact 2500 years earlier. (Isaiah 40:22; Proverbs 8:27)
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in(Isaiah 40:22)

When he established the heavens, I was there, when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28 when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, 29 when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, (Proverbs 8:27)

It does but God did not create Adam and Eve from a single cell.

What have you observed in the natural world?? The complexity of your eyes and brain cannot be evolved by randomness and chance.

So yes, Bible can be literally read.

Columbus and basically all the educated men of his time knew that the Earth was round before he set sail. What people didn't know for sure was the size of the Earth and Columbus was actually quite wrong on that. Other scientists of the time thought that he would never make it to Asia because the voyage would be too long (they were right!), but Columbus was stubborn and thought he would. He simply got lucky and ran into a continent halfway there!
