Good to hear you're on the YEC side tryptophan, and here is me thinking you were batting for the opposition.

They claim it started with basic incredients of life, and presto the first living thingy came into existence. This was very simple. Somehow it managed to reproduce itself and then, after many millions of years the small changes and natural selection resulted in all the lifeforms we see today. This is the fairy tale part of the theory.

While TwinCrier continues to propogate the misconception that evolution is about "improving" species, you continue to propogate the misconception that evolution includes abiogenesis. Both after repeated attempts by TEs to show you that the scientific community does not view or teach evolution those ways. We have provided many educational links to show that this isn't just the view of a few people on a message board.

So maybe you were taught those things about evolution, but you were taught wrong. So please, let us help you so that you can put teeth behind your attacks on what evolution actually is, and not what some uninformed YEC sites think evolution is.

While related, evolution and abiogenesis are independent of each other. Most TEs and evolutionists would say that abiogenesis theory is still in its infancy and backed by very little scientific evidence. Evolution, on the other hand, is a mature theory that is backed by a significant amount of scientific evidence.

Every single argument against an old earth and against evolution presented on the Creationists sites have been shown to be false, unsubstantiated or misleading. This is the problem with reading only creationist sites: you only hear their argument, not the refutation of that argument.

And, no, numbers are not conclusive. But it become nigh on impossible to claim a "sheep" mentality when the number is over 99%. And in a field of endeavor which thrives on competition, overturning theories and developing new ones, criticizing each other's work, etc. If there were any sound arguments against evolution, they would eventually be accepted, and the person who could legitimately falsify evolution would be respected as one of the greatest scientists of his day.

The scientific community is the LEAST sheep-like you will ever find. The fact that the theory of evolution is still accepted, not only as the best theory going, but one that is overwhelmingly convincing, is evidence in and of itself.

You really do need to get away from AiG and ICR and similar sites and check out the rebuttals to their arguments.
