From what I've seen, it seems to me that FoC's (and others') problem is that he can't grasp the steps of the scientific method, as you said, Cantuar.
The first step in the scientific method is to make an OBSERVATION. A possible observation would be deducing the result of a radiometric dating procedure done on a piece of the oldest rock on earth. In this case, geologists repeatedly get a result of c. 3.9 billion years using several various methods. If FoC could get his hands on the equipment and actually learn how the dating methods worked, he could verify this for himself. Most of us don't have to take this action to accept mainstream science, but the fact remains: a thousand different people could repeat the various procedures a million times and still get the same result (of course, accounting for a bit of human error).
A hypothesis is only invented AFTER an observation is made. A hypothesis MUST be consistent with an observation.
The third step of the method is to use that hypothesis to make predictions about our universe. If valid predictions are not made, the hypothesis is thrown out. That means, for instance, that the Theory of Evolution, is USEFUL for something.
The fourth step, as I hinted to in a previous paragraph, is to repeat the observations as many times as possible and modify the hypothesis in light of new results. It is in this step that a hypothesis (or theory) can be falsified. Years ago, observations were made about the Earth that can not have been made if it were 6,000 years old. Young Earth Creationism as a scientific theory was thus falsified when these observations were made. Believe what you will, but that doesn't make YEC any more true than my saying the sky is green...
In the last step, steps three and four are repeated until there are no discrepancies between the hypothesis and experiment/observation. This step is repeated forever ad nauseam, since a hypothesis can never be proven.
When the hypothesis becomes very consistent it becomes a theory, which provides a coherent set of propositions that explain a class of phenomena. The ToE does a remarkable job explaining the diversity of life on Earth...
FoC makes the ludicrously bold and patently false assumption that scientists formulated their theories first to discredit God, then later tried to collect as much (shady at best) evidence they could in order to support their theories. This shows FoC has an incredibly whacked notion regarding the actual nature of science, and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he has done little if any research in any science at all, let alone biology.
