• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
 • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

From what I've seen, it seems to me that FoC's (and others') problem is that he can't grasp the steps of the scientific method, as you said, Cantuar.

The first step in the scientific method is to make an OBSERVATION. A possible observation would be deducing the result of a radiometric dating procedure done on a piece of the oldest rock on earth. In this case, geologists repeatedly get a result of c. 3.9 billion years using several various methods. If FoC could get his hands on the equipment and actually learn how the dating methods worked, he could verify this for himself. Most of us don't have to take this action to accept mainstream science, but the fact remains: a thousand different people could repeat the various procedures a million times and still get the same result (of course, accounting for a bit of human error).

A hypothesis is only invented AFTER an observation is made. A hypothesis MUST be consistent with an observation.

The third step of the method is to use that hypothesis to make predictions about our universe. If valid predictions are not made, the hypothesis is thrown out. That means, for instance, that the Theory of Evolution, is USEFUL for something.

The fourth step, as I hinted to in a previous paragraph, is to repeat the observations as many times as possible and modify the hypothesis in light of new results. It is in this step that a hypothesis (or theory) can be falsified. Years ago, observations were made about the Earth that can not have been made if it were 6,000 years old. Young Earth Creationism as a scientific theory was thus falsified when these observations were made. Believe what you will, but that doesn't make YEC any more true than my saying the sky is green...

In the last step, steps three and four are repeated until there are no discrepancies between the hypothesis and experiment/observation. This step is repeated forever ad nauseam, since a hypothesis can never be proven.

When the hypothesis becomes very consistent it becomes a theory, which provides a coherent set of propositions that explain a class of phenomena. The ToE does a remarkable job explaining the diversity of life on Earth...

FoC makes the ludicrously bold and patently false assumption that scientists formulated their theories first to discredit God, then later tried to collect as much (shady at best) evidence they could in order to support their theories. This shows FoC has an incredibly whacked notion regarding the actual nature of science, and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he has done little if any research in any science at all, let alone biology.

He's a lot younger than I am...

Mind you, most people are these days.

So which is worse, the one supposedly acting like a child OR the ''adult'' who allows his overly developed intellect to be drawn in by that child?

Everyone who disagrees with my views is welcome to not respond.

I'm sorry.
The bible as it stands is the foundation for Christianity.

Can an evolutionist go to heaven?
Thats for God to decide as to if it offends Him or not.

I most definetly believe now that belief in evolution brings about a distortion of more than just Genesis 1.

I imagine even if ToE is not a damnable heresy, its abilty to corrupt the very basis of scriptural truth surely is.

This is a discussion board, we are here to discuss. If you aren't seeking discussion, then you are in the wrong place.
I am discussing.
you all just want someone to agree with.
I agree with the bible and fact.

Until evolution becomes fact (never), I will continue to argue against it.

The young earth position has been refuted so it is not fact.

If you agree with the facts and examine them honestly, there is no way to conclude that the earth is young without self-delusion by ignoring evidence you don't like.

Your post also indicates an oversimplification of the implications of the scientific method as well.

No you are not discussing, none of your statements are up for discussion. Stating that anything that refutes your personal interpretation of the Bible is false and that's that pretty much closes the door to an EXCHANGE of ideas.

Let's say for example someone comes in asking for an explanation of rainbows...your answer "Godidit" stops the conversation because there is nothing to discuss.

Did you happen to notice the ''.com''

''ChristianForums'' maybe?

I am allowed to use ''Goddidit'' here.

If you want an athiests only site I could point you in a couple different directions

Sure, you can use Goddidit. As long as your willing to take the wrath of god for rewriting the bible. ;) :D

However, you cant use goddidit to prove or disprove anything in science. Science doesnt care about god. :)
So I am ''rewriting'' the Bible when I say that God said ''day'' (yom) and meant exactly that.

You will really need to clarify this to me (I guess I am stupid for seeing the word ''day'' as ''day')'

I didn't say you couldn't say Goddidit...I simply said it ends discussion. Do you wish to have a discussion? Why did you come to a discussion board? Why not go write a book called "Goddidit so there" since you seem to prefer unsupported assertions and contrariness to intellectual discourse.

Chapter 1

Evolution.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
:D :D :D

Now you have the idea. Use the Hovind model. Just prattle on telling little anecdotes that prove conclusively that evolution doesn't make sense to you and find a large group of people gullible enough to buy it. (Hint: strict fundamentalist churches tend to be an excellent source for people who will buy into anything as long as you wrap a couple verses around it.)

Voila! Now you have your own "Creation Science Ministry" and a little tax evasion here and building code violation there and you're off and running (Assaulting a woman is optional). Just make sure you never stay on any one topic long enough for anyone with a shred of critical thinking ability to see through the smokescreen.

 Don't forget the conspiracy theories. You can never have enough conspiracy theories.
(and feel free to mention 'indoctrination' as much as possible  )

And lest we forget, the clever, alliterative phrases used to describe your cartoon version of evolution. Here's a suggested list:

Molecules to man (a classic and always appropriate)
Plankton to people
Dust mite to debutante
Horsefly to Homo (sapiens of course, but it doubles as a cheap shot to the sodomites)
Monkey to man (another Gish classic)

You get the idea. Have fun out there and remember to avoid tools of Satan such as actual science textbooks or people who are competent in the scientific disciplines. They are deceivers and they will destroy your godly (and lucrative) ministry.

They guy must be a true scientist: as long as the story sounds believeable, that is all that counts. Of course with science they do not claim to know truth, so it is understandable that they are stumbling around in the dark. But Dr Dino is suppose to be a Christian and Christians are suppose to know the truth.
