• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
 • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So I am ''rewriting'' the Bible when I say that God said ''day'' (yom) and meant exactly that.

6000 years ago, God created everything in a calander week? How do you explain stone age man? How do you explain the glaciers? Did the glaciers all melt in a day? How about here in Ohio where the glaciers pushed all that dirt and rock down south to form the foot hills in southern Ohio, when did that take place?

If you read the little title on my name card, you see that I do indeed claim 6 day creation.

Hopefully my beliefs on a long earth theory and evolution are incorrect and Genesis 1 is the ony place in scripture where we would tend to disagree.

The very funny thing about God is the MANNER in which He does and says things.

One basic thing I ask myself is WHY all the detail of creation to begin with?
Did Moses NEED to know the ''hows'' and ''timeframes'' involved in creation.

God could have easily just stated that He made all these things and left it at that.

He knew beforehand (which is a very key point) that we would one day be able to question the 6 day creation thing.

WHY did He put a stumbling block in saying it was 6 days?

You can say that its not meant literally and a few years back I would have agreed completely.

As I said before, God has a very peculiar way of doing things.
The Old Testament is full of stories that are very peculiar.

I wouldnt put it past Him to have done it intentionally to see who would have faith in it even though its so incredible to believe.
Which is where I am today.

Be mad all you want...but icr uses the same "probability" argument that all YECs use...this makes it seem more scientific...but as demonstrated in the other thread...astronomically improbable events happen every minute of every day

There are strong indications that there was only one ice age. As discussed previously, the requirements for an ice age are very stringent. The problem grows to impossibility, when more than one is considered.

There are strong indications that there was only one ice age.

This is a flat out lie.

The article briefly addresses cores from the Ocean Drilling Program but in no way falsifies the data (and even neglects most of it). The reason the data conflicts with the four-ice-age model is because that model is no longer tenable nor is it held in the realm of geology anymore.

Not only are there isotopic variations for Oxygen, but there is also evidence from biogenic sediment production and its flux to the seafloor for components like opal and calcium carbonate. Productivity of organisms producing these sediments depends STRONGLY on climate variability. Not only do these fluctuations correspond to short term orbital variations but also climatic variations corresponding to glacial advances and retreats. Furthermore we have evidence from eolian dust contained in those cores indicative of changing wind strengths based upon the particles contained in the cores. These fluctuations also correspond to climatic variations if a spectral analysis is done (and was done by David Rea I think).
