I don't think it's happening much, but you certainly hear a lot about it when it does happen. I doubt many evolutionist even give a serious look at creation evidence.
I spoke to a biologist Christian at my old Church. He was a biologist, and a Christian. He'd never given a thought to evolution or its validity, or to Creationism. It seemed like I might even have known more on the topic than him.

Biology is a big field and not all biologists are working on research into evolution. I have met a professional biologist (working on entomological research) who is a creationist, but I think biology yields the lowest percentage of creationists of all the scientific fields.

Science as a whole is an even bigger field, and applied science offshoots like engineering widen the circle still farther. Many professionals working in these areas know little more about evolution that the average amateur.

So creationists with professional science credentials are more often working in physics or hydrology or some such field than a science related to evolution.

Works in reverse too. Biologists don't necessarily know much about other scientific fields. In his book Finding Darwin's God, Kenneth Miller recounts coming across the anti-evolution argument that the earth's magnetic field is decaying. He thought, for once, that maybe creationists were on to something. But he decided to consult with a professor of geology, who set him straight.

I know JohnR7 over in the science and creation forum, an avowed (and determined) Creationist, said he searched high and low for a real, honest to God geologist who accepted a young earth and could not find one.

But there is an Affiliation of Christian Geologists, which has a website here:

http://www.wheaton.edu/ACG/

Guess what, they believe the earth is billions of years old. Go figure.

They have some very interesting articles by their members.
