* Video: Why do creationists get laughed at? *
Thanks for posting that.

Yes, that kid is in error; but keep in mind, his error is caused by he being stuck in a time tunnel.

When people laugh at him, they are actually laughing at their own scientific teachings of the past.

I would like to address his point that the Grand Canyon could be formed in five minutes.

First of all, I believe the Grand Canyon was created in less than five seconds; not five minutes.

Second of all, the Grand Canyon didn't "form," it was created when God pulled Eden (Pangaea) apart into five large continents.

Evolutionary science doesn't claim to know all the facts of origins, but we do have the observable, testable facts preserved in the fossil record. Those facts conflict with the creation story that was created by the holy men who wrote Genesis.

Bible worshippers are too proud to concede the errors of the Bible.

Are you saying that, rather than concede them as errors, they allegorize it?

Ah, good ol' Kent Hovind. Someone as equally knowledgeable about evolution as he is about U.S. tax law.
If someone laid down a mine field on the road, and I warned motorists not to take that road because the bridge was out, would I save a life?

Yes ... I would have the facts wrong; but the goal is the same: to save lives.

Kent Howind? Really? He lies even more than Donald Trump!

No, sorry, the ToE is not "pwned". Its a very well established scientific theory that is well understood and align with all facts.

Also, if you want to argue against the ToE (or any scientific theory) the only way to make progress it thru peer-review.

I have no idea how you can use that analogy when describing a con man like Kent Howind who is only in it for the money from what I can gather.

Ill informed nonsense is ill informed nonsense, is ill informed nonsense.

And Kent Hovind is a master at it. In fact, you could almost believe he has a PhD in it.

Some allegorize the story's that become too difficult to defend. Others imply that all facts that conflict with the creation narrative are lies such as Ken Hovind does. And then their are people like me who appreciate the faith of those who wrote psudo biographical stories for public consumption.

This ongoing conflict in religion can be solved by considering that, in short, God sent the patterns of life to earth to evolve into man.

It is also a conflict that is resolved if we agree that the central tenet of our faith is a belief in Jesus Christ and the salvation He offers. Whether the universe was created in 6 days or over billions of years is not important as long as we agree, as Christians, that God is the creator.

That's true of the issue of salvation but not the pursuit of an understanding of world history.

I think its a very bad place to be when you try to use faith to argue against physical reality, its a battle you really cant win.

I happen to believe in evolution. My point is that this does not make me any less of a Christian than a creationist. I can accept Genesis as allegory while still believing in the truth of God's Word and the salvation of Jesus Christ.

I'm not suggesting that we stifle the debate. I am suggesting that believing in evolution and being a true Christian are entirely compatible.

Well said! I think we should stifle the "debate" though to an extent, it has serious ramifications for the future of education in your country if these people have their way.

I agree. For me I accept Genesis as human speculation and conjecture, written by imperfect holy men and for an Israelite audience. I approach the Bible through God rather than God through the Bible.

That has nothing to do with Kent Hovind. You forgot his goal. It was to line his pockets illegally with cash.
