Perhaps this would be a good time for you to explain again how it is that evolution does not in any way conflict with faith in God and Christ?

Ok. Do you understand where the conflict even comes from? Can you imagine a reason why someone might believe in a 6 day creation other than that they have a firm belief in not using their brain, as you seem to have put it?

Sure I can, Shane. And there are many other doctrines and teachings that are not agreed to by all Christians. Like I said before, if the Bible were that straight forward and to the point, with only one possible interpretation of any given scripture, we would not have all the different Christian denominations, would we? Heck, forums like these would be reduced to nothing more than 'preaching to the choir'.

Shane it doesn't confict with christianity. they just (evolutionists) want to believe in many more miricles and translate the word YOM different then most scholars I have run into.

evolution is a replacemnet for God. If one wants to believe it, it is their own perogotive, but, be careful that men don't seduce us with lies. Hitler once said,"if you tell a lie long enough and often enough, the people will believe it". Our kids are taught this alternative religion from kindergarden in public schools. sound familiar?
frankly man has one of two worldviews=GOD or rock. either way it takes a lot of faith to believe it because the only proof that exists is that which we chose to believe. evolution believes that the universe came from a big bang, something that explodes smaller than a period on a page, basically "nothing" exploded! now that sure takes a lot of faith to believe in my opinion. I beleive God made everything in 6 litereal days, just like it tells us in Genesis. Since God was there, and tells us in His book (Bible), I beleive that.

I think there is no way one can accept evolution if they believe the Bible. Evolution is satan's tool to try to tear down the very foundation (Genesis) of God's word.

but my main question is: how do you know the "days" in Genesis were 24 hour days?

Really? So, if I believe that the reason that cats and dogs have the same basic bone structure is that they're related, this somehow answers the question of why the world exists, sanctifies my marriage, gives me hope in life everlasting, explains the knowledge of good and evil, grants humanity lordship and dominion over the earth, and this theory then sacrifices its only son on the cross to save my soul?

Oddly, this is not a theory I've seen before, and it's not a very convincing one. I've read my share of biology textbooks, and I have yet to encounter one which clarifies the importance of repenting, or accepting grace.

You truncated the dinosaur-bird relationship to a far higher degree than any scientist would likely believe. Evolution is an extremely slow process, so slow that it takes tens of thousands of generations or more (in some cases) for physical changes to take become apparent to the unaided eye.

Also, I must ask again, how do you know the "days" in Genesis are 24 hour days?

there is no scientific proof that either one is true. Though there is evidence that can support or oppose one or the other theory. The only way we could know for sure is to observe the creation or big bang over and over again. We all know that this is scienctificly imposible (by human standards). I seen alot of debates and read alot of articals. I came to the conclusion That creationism is right. Kent Hovine is the best debater I have seen or heard. I would really like to get ahold of him.

I guess you see the quote mining but the scrutiny did not have his own opposing views. He just said Hovind was wrong but without explanation of his own.

That's fine; the point is, Hovind is being dishonest. In some cases, the quote mining is far enough out that I'd really have to call it lying in any meaningful sense; what he describes is so unrelated to the original quote as to be a serious misrepresentation.

The opposing viewpoint is well documented, and depends a lot less on flare, and a lot more on 200 page documents full of footnotes.
