  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evolution is proven false!

Hell is where you end up if you choose to avoid
eternal life with the Father.
It is not an outside "cell" or confinement.
If you reject God, you don't get the benefits
and end up dead without benefits.

All the torment is internal, not externally applied
as many have suggested.

But what is worse? External or internal torment?
External torment would be letting you off easy.
You'd have somebody else to blame for your pain.
Letting me off easy, for being duped by someone much more cunning and sly than I?

Let me make sure I got this straight... God is punishing me because of something Satan did? Is that about right?

The inconsistencies in the story are astounding.

The fact He can't seem to be able to change His own rules suggests to me, He's not ultimate in authority.

There is logic involved.
Evil cannot self-exist because existence itself is "good."

For evil to exist on it's own would violate it's mandate of
destroying what is "good."

For this reason, evil can only exist as a cancer to what is good.
God cannot change the rule and allow destruction to be a good
thing when it is not.

Some logic cannot be changed by God because He created
perfect logic in the first place.

And then God is going to throw us into Hell because we couldn't see what Satan was blocking us from seeing? And God couldn't do anything about it?

Talk about some backwards theology . . .

No He told us to pray for everyone, so they'll see because He wants everyone saved.

Obviously, he doesn't want that because he let's Satan blind us.

"Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News."

Does this mean that children will die of painful cancers when they are in Heaven?

From where did we get the energy of the Cosmos
if not from an outside source.

Second Law: Entropy

Second Law of Thermodynamics: In any cyclic process the entropy will either increase or remain the same.

Entropy: a state variable whose change is defined for a reversible process at T where Q is the heat absorbed.

Entropy: a measure of the amount of energy which is unavailable to do work.
Entropy: a measure of the disorder of a system.
Entropy: a measure of the multiplicity of a system.
Since entropy gives information about the evolution of an isolated system with time, it is said to give us the direction of "time's arrow" . If snapshots of a system at two different times shows one state which is more disordered, then it could be implied that this state came later in time. For an isolated system, the natural course of events takes the system to a more disordered (higher entropy) state.

Alternative statements: Second Law of Thermodynamics
It's tedious when people use thermodynamic terms to make ambiguous statements that sound like they show that evolution is disproven by the Second Law.

Which it isn't. There's nothing in evolutionary theory that contradicts any thermodynamic law.

And
  • The definition of entropy is not limited to cyclic processes, nor to isolated systems.
  • Changes in entropy are defined for all processes, reversible or not.
  • Entropy is a measure of disorder only for a specific and very limited definition of "disorder".

All laws point toward the dilution of energy, order, and intelligence.

Logically, something must have interfered or based on an equal
and opposing force resulting in our Cosmos.
Right -- that's what I was saying. You've got these laws opposing life, and an equal and opposing force, the designer/creator, who has to interfere to make life happen. That sounds like an argument for something like Manicheism, not Christianity.

While he has long pointed this argument at evolution, he is now attempting to use it against modern cosmology.

As with the theory of evolution, it does require some understanding of the theories involved so as to see why the 2LoTD does not apply.

Before The Fall, the physical world was not an issue. Just as with any gods.

So this is a yes.

Before the Fall, Adam and Eve could have survived on Venus.

ANyway, if the physical world wasn't an issue before the fall, why did God provide food for them?

It's as if he put a 4 year old in a room with a big, huge cookie jar full of cookies in the middle of the floor. He tells the 4 year old not to eat any of the cookies. God also creates the room with a 12 year old who wants to see the kid trip up. God walks away. The 12 year old tells the 4 year old that it really isn't that big of a deal to eat a few of the cookies. What do you think happens next? I think everyone knows what happens next . . . and yet God was surprised. Go figure.

The story doesn't read that way. Go read.

I enjoy food, especially garden fresh food. Even if I'm not hungry
I can enjoy food that I've grown. Working the soil is good for the
soul as well.

I suspect Loudmouth is pulling your leg, as he's among those who don't have much regard for the Bible or the needed 'Fear of the Lord'

That's just a naturalist and law bound way of describing why God makes sense.

Before the Fall of Man, the cosmos was not hostile. The laws of nature are not the laws of God. The laws of nature are just a structure to hold man in place until repentance.

Jesus certainly expected to have a celebratory drink of wine, in the Kingdom -- and there is going to be the marriage supper of the Lamb. Obviously, those who follow the example of mockers (Psalm 1) will be eating hot spicy dishes. Though as Lewis rightly says, that's exactly what some folks want.
