Actually mine is now "A person of low ability".

Interesting. I didn't get all that from your signature however.
Nope, that is your "Custom title. I just looked it up. The signature is at the bottom of your or my post. You would need to go to your own member page to see this.

I'm betting OWG has his display of signatures turned-off and forgot that there was such a thing. I have mine turned off. So when anybody refers to a sig, I have to click on their name and then on the Information tab. On a mobile device, there's even a bit more drilling.

But, it is strange that anyone who's been a member for 13 years doesn't seem to know what a signature even is.
Even more strange that when I quoted his signature to him that he did not recognize it. Since one chooses one's own signature not remembering it is not a good sign.

I just looked up my signature. It is (was) the same as my custom title, and I don't recall posting it. I have only visited my personal page a few times over the years. I just don't pay that much attention to it. Anyway thanks for bringing it to my attention.

You are welcome, and I see that you changed your sig.

My intuition is the result of experience. Without this "fools rush in".
You don't appear to have any experience related to science and science education. Therefore your "intuition" is based on nothing.

If you mean I haven't drunk the ToE cool-aid, you are correct.

No, I mean exactly what I stated. You claim your intuition is based on experience but you have already acknowledged that you don't understand anything about the actual science behind evolution. Therefore your intuition is based on nothing.

I only have authority over myself :(, but if I was in charge things would be very different.
Why do I get the feeling that if you were in charge one of the first things to go would be the First Amendment?

Just because you look at it doesn't mean you understand it. You've already admitted as much.[/QUOTE

The 'understanding' of evolutionary science is just a big rabbit hole to me. It's difficult enough understanding how living things work without adding nonsensical theories to it.

No need for me to make such claims. Evolution teaching is already full of them. You have no idea how absurd the ToE is.
Given your admitted lack of understanding of evolutionary theory, can you give us an example of something that is absurd about the TOE and why?

Except that you can give no example of something "nonsensical" about TOE. If you could, you would have by now.

If I were in charge I would charge the education system to teach the truth, not about evolution, but about human nature. Of course it would be difficult finding teachers, so I would probably have to do it myself. :D

It's just too...overwhelmingly nonsensical. I don't know where to start.

It's a moot point. I read the first few pages. If it doesn't grab me I don't continue reading...so of course I never know what happens. Lot's of things I will never know regardless of how interesting they might be.
And yet you still judge them wrong even though you don't know them...

Whose truth about human nature would you teach without running afoul of the Constitution?

Cheap cop out.

That's what I come away with when I peruse Gray's Anatomy. I just read about the function of the larynx. In my wildest dream I can't imagine it all coming together over millions of years via 'natural selection'. Same with every other system. It just doesn't compute.

What is obvious to me is that we were purposefully created, not put together by happenstance a molecule at a time over millions of years.

No need to find new truth. The obvious truth is bad enough.

I would insist that commencement speakers stop telling the graduating class how wonderful they are and what great things they are going to do, and instead point out what previous classes have done with, or to, their lives. That's much more honest and revealing. This might temper the false pride and sense of entitlement these young 'skulls full of mush' have.
