Many folks want to protect kids from Jesus and His eternal salvation. I think Hitler claimed to want to protect folks also. He wanted to protect Germans from Gypsies, Christians, Jews..etc etc.Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks protecting kids, and society in general, from medical ignorance and gullibility, is important.
People also interpret the bible according their sins. IOW their opinion of God's will varied according to their recent experience (& emotional state). As for interpreting the bible according to preconceptions, perhaps I should have said the evidence suggests to me that people interpret the bible in ways that support their personal preconceptions of right and wrong. It's a plausible explanation for why there are so many different interpretations of what is considered right or wrong according to the bible.

An effort would include trying to stop people with diseases from spreading them. Since child sacrifice deaths are all preventable almost, they are easily preventable with tiny effort also. Since vaccinations are known to cause deaths and side effects it is also preventable by not getting them. This was not a conscious choice, it was something they were unaware of doing. It's well known that our emotional and social behaviour is affected by things we're unaware of, and it appears that also applies to what people think their God would want.Those who do this have chosen a path that leads out of the church.
I was thinking of the horn of the dilemma concerning God commanding what is good, as opposed to the good necessarily being whatever God commands, i.e. God being the messenger of moral good rather than the author.If a Christian gets stuck in that dilemma they are likely on their way out of the church.
I grew up among a Christian community and went to Christian schools, so I'm reasonably familiar with the lifestyle and the way it develops.Christianity is more than ritual worship, it's a way of life. Can you argue with the way of life of a Christian? Do you even know what it is. Also do you consider all who profess Christ to be mature Christians, i.e. do you consider someone just entering college to be suddenly learned?
Not sure how the reading habits of students are relevant...As I have related before, I rent to graduate students from many countries. Most don't know how to read and understand simple instructions. In fact many don't bother to read those instructions.
