  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evolution is a RELIGION and not Science

I think it's a dumb question to ask in the first place.

I don't expect the average 1st century person to have an accurate grasp of 2012 science let alone what we will know in the centuries ahead.

Can you explain the science behind evolution?

Creationists sort of remind me of someone who goes into hysterics when they find out a loved out died, screaming, "No no he(or she) isn't dead!!!! noooooo!". While the whole time it's still true that the loved one is dead.

Likewise, the creationist cries and cries and throws a tantrum because they don't like certain facts.

Just the fact maam? Please present the facts.

Can you explain the science behind evolution?

Some of it, and probably not well because I tend to ramble and post in run ons, quasi stream of conscience. And the whole not being a biologist thing. Though I have read up on the subject and had basic studies on biology a fairly long time ago.

Also, I recognize attempts at ad hom when I see them. You want to bs someone, find someone else to do it with.

And evolutionists remind me of these non-believers:

Matthew 9:23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
Matthew 9:24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
Matthew 9:25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

Here, let me do it for you then:

Evolution = Δalleles/T = not.

So you cannot expound on the evidence. On what do you base your faith in evolution then? Do you believe it to be true because a scientist said so? Have you put your faith in man rather than God?

Good analogy.

Good analogy.

The whole thing makes me sad. Creationists remind me of the people that refuse medical treatment for a very sick child because they want to trust in ancient world supernatural ideas instead and then the child dies.

Embracing ignorance has far reaching and dangerous consequences that I fear some simply cannot appreciate or they refuse to.

Now that is a first. A professed Christian calling Christian doctrine (creationism) ignorant.

I'm a Christian, there are lots of Chritians who follow ignorant doctrine, so theres two.

I'm guessing he's not familiar with these mysterious evolution believing Christians I like to call.............Catholics. Not that they are the only ones but it's more amusing this way.

I understand what evolution is and the process. I just have never seen convincing evidence. Give me the reader's digest version.
