• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1. You are a creationist. You may not be a special creationist, but you are a creationist.

idc what ppl call me its just kinda stupid idk... wtvr

2. A scientist can have knowledge, or speak about, more than one topic at a time without them necessarily being the same topic. As well, topics can be related but not the same topic, as is the case of abiogenesis and evolutionary theory. They're certainly quite interested one in the other but they're not the same theory nor are they inter-dependent.

so like abiogenesis is a fancy word for origins right???
evolutionary theory is just biological right?

3. Big-bang theory and cosmological evolution are just that, astrophysics topics. Evolution means change, evolutionary theory that we generally discuss is biological evolutionary theory. You'd be talking about various theories that refer to the evolution of systems in space... but they're not biological, they cannot reproduce, and therefore are completely different topics.

dude already in my first post u could see i was just talking about origins and progression, covering feilds and not talking about biological aspect alone... so why u trippin

If you're going to try to understand (read, criticize) a topic, you'd do well to make sure you understand the terminology that is being used, as the people in the field are using it.

ugh it doesnt really matter... its not like we're talking advanced genetics....... protein synthesis and mitosis... ooooo... no one understands that unless they have a dict. or did biology and actualy paid attention! ... an im not here to rub horns with people who think they're scientists this place is open to whomever.

cosmology is not is not a field of "evolution". When they use the term "evolution" outside of biology, they are using it colloquially meaning changes over time. It has nothing at all to do with the "Theory of Evolution" and there is no scientific correlation between the two. Thus the validity of one does not have anything to do with the validity of the other.

Regardless of whether this is a forum for scientists or lay people, if you are going to critique a scientific theory and assert conclusions about it, you should be able to show that you understand enough about the subject for anyone to bother listening to your conclusions.

Everyone is entitled to give their opinions, but not all opinions are equal.

I'm only four years older than him and I barely understand him. Personally I think its intellectually lazy to not bother to write in an accepted way and to be unconcerned with exactly how many people can understand you.

and when u marry a woman one day that speaks like a homeless person are u going to pick her up on it too... not that u willl, im just saying... why u making such a big deal out of it

im lost
why u picking on such small things? cus that still means cosmology is evolution, its just in another sense... but what did i say to make u think that im using biological evolution to validate cosmological

This is beyond the point. We're not discussing a future wife for me, we're discussing the ability of the people you're trying to communicate with to understand you.

As it stands, that ability is only marginal.

The Devil is in the details, to put it bluntly. Details are extremely important in science.

Mate, the most complicated term I've used thus far is important.

I wasn't talking about you back then. Was talking about myself..... waxing all fancy... i try not to be like that when im talking about science / philosophy / theology with ppl, because i think it is kinda ignorant and inconsiderate about the majority (who are not prodigy einsteins)... if u wanna talk like an ancient histroical figure go ahead... but obviously idc about that, becaue I never started this argument in de first place.

Can we end this dispute dear sir!? Enemies should not be made over disputes of words...

If you're going to talk science, it must be expected that you are going to run into scientific jargon.

Don't complain about other people using scientific terms. Instead, learn.

not complaing about others using wtvr terms... im complaining about others complainging about my unscientific terms...........................
