That is true. There are a few very objectionable posters at almost any forum. I don't argue politics too much. I used to be fairly conservative, because I was a fiscal conservative. But sadly I do not see either party as being particularly conservative in that sense these days. The wackos have taken over the Republicans and the Democrats are not much better.

Truth is subjective, I am sure many of the biblical authors honestly believed what they wrote down fit reality. But I can guarantee you in matters of biology I can absolutely destroy the bible.

But not exactly impressive to have a better understanding of biology than people from over 1000 years ago.

And I am not claiming to be more knowledgeable than some deity, I don't view the bible as being influenced or written by a deity to begin with. I claim to be more knowledgeable about certain topics than ancient peoples, which isn't exactly arrogant of me as I have the luxury of having centuries of more information available to me than they did.

It has been shown to be wrong in many cases, not my fault if you haven't noticed. And scientific ideas change in response to new and better information, which is why it gradually gets closer and closer to fitting reality perfectly, while the bible remains stagnant in an ancient view which has long since been shown to have few points of accuracy.

The bible doesn't change because people assume it is right, not because it actually is. Also, believe it or not, the bible has been altered significantly over the years, it tends to happen in spurts, rather than continuously. But entire books have been removed from cannon.

Again, this is where you are wrong.

When science finds an error they try to correct it. That is a good thing.

When we find errors in the Bible some Christians try to cover them up or make flaky excuses for them. This is bad thing.

The Bible would be a much better book if it had a method to correct the errors of the Bible.
