Perhaps that is where we differGreenEyedLady said:Its not lack of knowledge about Catholism.
This passage is about the Judgement Seat of Christ. There is no mention of puratory in the bible. I am fully aware of the verses that the church use to try and defend the man made doctrine, the problem is that I never read the entire thing when I was a Catholic. I just believed what the church (man) said about it. Only when I read God's Word, did I truley understand what He was saying.
It is not a lack of knowledge, more of a clairifcation of what God said, not what man says.

GreenEyedLady said:I have to also respectfully disagree with you.
Saying alcohol and drunkness is a sin is not a human standard but a biblical one.
Having some dress codes and telling christains how to dress appropiately because of the discusting moral dress code in this world today is somthing that needs to be talked about from the pulpit.
However, telling the congregation that women should dress modestly and that drunkness is sinful is NOT legalistic. That is bible!
I'd be interested in that too, because that wasn't the way I understood her.Cright said:I think that greeneyedlady was refrencing that using alcohol to the point of drunkeness is sinful. (correct me if I'm wrong greeneyedlady).
Here are my refernces that drunkeness is a sin.kayanne said:So you are asserting that alcohol, in any use whatsoever, is a sin? Please share Biblical support for that conclusion, unless I am misunderstanding you.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but you're saying drunkeness, not drinking, correct?GreenEyedLady said:Here are my refernces that drunkeness is a sin.
Thanks for the clarification, and for the way you presented it - you said "I don't think" and "I personally have a conviction." You represented those beliefs as they are, and I appreciate that.GreenEyedLady said:Correct.
However, I personally have a conviction with drinking anything that will offend the Holy Spirit. It would only take me 1 glass to get me feeling pretty good, and that my friend is feeling drunk.
This is however, a personal conviction. I don't think its ok to drink alchol, but I don't judge people who do.
