Ro 10:

9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
You will be justified and saved for eternal life if you believe, confess, and call on the name of the Lord.

There was a warning in Mt 7:

21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
They knew Jesus but Jesus didn't know them. Jesus didn't know them as someone who does the will of the Father. They used Jesus' name to prophesy, exorcize, and perform great works, but not according to the will of the Father. Jesus didn't send them to do all these showy works. They served themselves, not God. True discipleship involves not only outward actions but also an inward transformation of the heart that aligns with God's will.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Really?

Yes, as long as he obeys the will of the Father when he does so.

What about a homosexual who fulfills the requirements of Romans 10:9 but still lives in unrepentant sin?

1 Corinthians 6:

9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
After one has confessed Jesus is Lord, there is no guarantee that he will no longer sin. The question is this: Does he continue to sin like he was before? Is he as greedy as he was before he was born again of the Spirit?

The answer is no. When we first confessed Jesus, there was a fundamental repentance of turning to God. After that, we still have a daily repentance of relying on God to walk in the Spirit. That's the process of daily sanctification. Hopefully, the longer we believe, the lesser we sin.

2 Corinthians 5:

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Well God knows the mind of a person, but confessing Jesus is Lord. Is never stated as the condition God requires to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life salvation and become a permanent born again child of God.

God requires a person to believe Jesus is The Son of God. The Messiah. The Christ (all the same names of Jesus). The resurrection and the life, this is the name that gives people Eternal Life salvation.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”
Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

How does the Lord know the difference between those who say, "Lord, Lord" and are not saved, and those that do so and are saved? He knows something we don't readily see (other than knowing the frauds by their fruit). Look at Romans 10:9-10 again:

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."

Those who profess Jesus as Lord who aren't saved never truly believed that God raised Him from the dead. And unlike us, only Jesus knows this because only He can see into the heart.

So yes, obversely those who genuinely believe in their hearts and declare Him as Lord, are committed to following Him all the way through the sanctification process to being conformed into His image - thus shedding all sin as He enables us to overcome. He does so with a firm hand, but praise God, with infinite patience! Am I right?

Thus why we can extend His invitation to the lost to come as they are, but don't expect to remain there!

2 Corinthians 5:
Many however falsely confess Christ to be their Lord, yet they continue living in sin.

Tragically, many churches today preach cheap gospel. Confess Christ is your Lord, pray such and such prayer and then you will be saved. You will be free so such people often live in sin and disobedience. I know of someone who calls himself a Christian but has Greek god and idols at home, and his response is 'well I don't bow to them, so it doesn't matter. And I am free under Christ I am no longer under the law'. Christ did not die for us so we can do whatever we want, but so we can obey God.

The problem with the church today that is became too soft. All you hear is about love love love but never about deadly consequences of sin, never about God's wrath, never about God's coming judgement. And I'm sick of it. The Bible is full of God's wrath, judgement and curses. But how many times there are sermons on such topics? Once a year? Once in 5 years? Some preachers never preach about it at all. But God is the God of covenant, and He who does not keep His covenants is cursed. But such topics don't get preached today. There are churches that don't preach about sin and hell at all. Tragic error. False leaders leading people astray, then Christians don't fear God and sin left and right.

Sin is sin .... ALL must come to repentance. We may fall occasionally ... but we get back up and follow the Lord ... daily (like you said)

A second repentance from sin makes the first one a lie to God.
