First: What is the age of accountability? Show where that is defined Biblically.

Second: You've managed to just work yourself into the doctrine of Pre-destination, which states that God has already chosen the people that will be saved, even before the founding of the earth (see Ephesians), and God ensures that the gospel will reach those that are already destined to be saved.

Of course, then the question is BCF, why are you so worried? The person you listened to on the radio is obviously someone who believes in Free Will, the opposite of pre-destination, and he is thus of the belief that anyone and everyone has the potential to be saved.

Then again... you have to wonder if YOU are one of the chosen. Because, according to the doctrine, not everyone who receives the gospel will actually be saved! Since you have no power to save yourself by belief, and only God can choose to save you or not, you can only hope that you are chosen.

I didn't say God chose those people, but don't you think he already knows who it is that will and will not accept him? He gave those people up to their idols and things of this world. I have known since as far back as I can remember there was a God. God does know, and is present in the life of those that will one day accept him. That doesn't mean he doesn't try to help those that will not accept him, but he already knows they won't. He just uses those people to get his believers. God knew me and you were going to have this conversation before we were both born. He knew what would happen if we DIDN'T have this conversation. I know that God needs to use me to reach his people. If I don't do what God wants me to do, then it is going to screw up his plan. What if Noah told God no. What if Mary told God no. What if Moses told God no. Don't you think he already knew what was going to happen? But that didn't stop God from asking them to do it anyway.

Chris - you clearly think way too much of yourself and your importance and power. What makes you think that anything you do or do not do can screw up God's plan? How can you possibly be that much more powerful than God, that you can refuse to do God's will?

If you believe that God is all-powerful and all-knowing, then absolutely nothing you do or think can thwart God, because God already knows what you will do. In fact, anything you do or think is already known to God and therefore is under God's complete, all-powerful control. And, therefore, it is completely unnecessary for God to ask anyone to do anything - it is already determined what will happen. For God to ask someone to do something, knowing they will refuse, is an exercise in futility. Do you think God would do something so futile?

But if you believe that God relinquishes any control to us, or anyone else, and thus is not all-powerful, then God is not worthy of worship - indeed, God cannot be God in that case.

Do you believe in hell, or not?

I guess you don't know me very well if you think I have a high regard for myself.

You may not consciously think you do. But you're not unique in the belief that you have any power to disrupt God's will, either by action or inaction. Many people do believe that they have this power, even if they don't see it that way. But any time a person says, "I must do as God instructs, otherwise I will screw up God's plan", that person is implicitly saying "I have the power to usurp God's power."
