  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ooc: Give or take

At this second Atlas shouted

"Atlantia! Onward!"
The majority of the archers stayed back, Zhashban with them, then the horsemen and infantrymen bashed through. Annihilating the weaker barbarians. The groups was much smaller than the original but they were much better trained. Quickly the stronger barbarians as they swung through splitting some east and some west.

By far the largest group, the footsoldiers who had Remial with them reinforced the guards of Yitai.
Finally the archers rained down their bolts destroying any who attempted to flee.

The original plan of imitating Atlantis and hoping for fear was gone in it's place was some thing else, he was picking up where Atlantis left off. No longer was he an imitator. Now he was the creator, the destroyer of the opposing army.

ooc: this is not supposed to be a good thing

*Sierra was jostled by her guards behind the allied lines. She was now in the middle of the Yitains. She called for Atlas, but didn't see him anywhere. She took a breath and pushed her way back to the front lines where she thought Atlas would be.*

Zhashban took up on the war whoop as he strung his arrow and let it fly. The arrow struck it's mark perfectly, sending a dead barbarian spiraling down the hill. Another twang of the bow saw another Barbarian dead. Zhashban let his arrows of death rain on the enemy, but he missed a few as he noticed something change in Atlas' demeanor. It didn't look too good, though good at the moment, nothing that stay good for long.

--------------

Borscht watched as both of his norhtern and southern flanks were being destroyed by the new onslaught of soldiers who had been hiding in the hills. Caught slightly off guard, Borscht was unsure of himself for a moment, but regained his composure as he put his next plan into action.

With a thrust of the fist, the small, but powerful Barbarian Cavalry rode into the battle. These warriors were clad in little armor, but were agile. Half of them carried deadly maces while the other half wielded an array of spears and for some, halberds. Borscht followed this new wave with another wave of soldiers. This wave was one of the better armored, many even having finely smithied swords and light, but strong shields.

These two new waves helped the struggling Barbarians immensely as they found new strength to fight back the well armored knights who rode with the now frightening Atlantis.

However, Borscht could tell it wouldn't be enough. He organized the remainder of his army, about 9,000, into four smaller battalions of 2,000 each, leaving about 1,000 with himself. He then sent each battallion to hide in the trees behind himself and the battle on either side of the rode. He then issued a general retreat by the warriors on the hill. As the Barbarians retreated, Borscht could only hope that the Yitains would follow, right into his own main army who were ready to ambush the Yitains as they went past.

((I expect they will fall for the trick, and have to retreat themselves, only to do almost the same thing right back as they retreat into the friendly forces of Yitain's expert archers and Scott's still-hidden cavalry...Just a suggestion.))

*Sierra swung her thin, light blade at a Barbarian who was trying to grab her. It made contact with his blade, she parried and thrust again, nicking him in the ribs. He took advantage of the opening and thrust back at her. She dodged and her shirt tore a bit. The generals around her were also paring off with enemies, but one broke away to help Sierra. She nudged him away, she needed to do this herself*

ooc: Wait, Atlas is gonna kill Scott?

ic: *Kelli smiled up at Dominic. Leaning back she looked out a window* My mother taught it to me when I was ten.

"How lovely, my mother died at childbirth. I can't remember a thing about her. My father loved me but he was killed when I was eight. I spent most of my life travelling with a band of gypsy elves. When they fought I fought for them, when they lost their lands I gave them mine. If not for them I would be dead now.

I was taught their songs, and culture. Their language, a unique elven diealect has become my mother tongue. I grow tired of this rough and barbaric speach."

*Sierra ducked and swerved. She thrust her sword into the belly of one of her attackers and dragged it up. He dropped dead and another man grabbed Sierra from behind. She screamed and scratched at him her sword useless on the ground. When she felt the man move to grab his dagger she swung her legs under him and put all her body weight downward. He dropped her and Sierra kicked up in between his legs.*

((Uh, guys, please don't forget that Borscht has just ordered a retreat and that the Yitain army should be chasing after them soon, right into a trap.))

Meanwhile, back in Yitai...

Retta Yoto paced back in forth in front of his chief cabinent, his hands behind his back, his head bend slightly downward, "Well, my friends. It seems that our plan for back up may be our downfall. This Atlas character is gaining too much popularity with the people. I am afraid of a revolt."

"Nonsense! Our army can suppress a revolt by the people easily! Why else do you think that we do not allow our citizens to own weapons?"

A glare from Retta sat the fiesty cabinent member on his seat, "Do you really think our army supports us any longer? We are losing ground. With a victory against the Barbarians, there will be nothing to stop Atlas from simply marching in and declaring himself ruler of the city."

A hush came over the cabinent as they contemplated this difficulty. Finally, one of the older members stood, "Suppose, my lord, that Atlas did not march into the city?"

"Are you suggesting an accident along the road? If so, that would be even more dangerous than letting come in here!"

"No, my lord! We have a strong city, with strong walls! Our garrison is well fed and ready to fight. Atlas' men will be weary and exhausted on their return. Let us shut the gates, and refuse them entrance!"

Retta cocked his head, intrigued by this plan, "And what if the people within revolt to let the hero in?"

"He shall not be a hero. He, shall we say, is a traitor, with Barbarian troops ready to spring on the city once he gets inside the city..."

Retta smiled evilly, "Ah, now there is a plan. Well done, you will be well rewarded once the plan is executed."

Retta ajourned the meeting; chuckling could be heard as the members congratulated themselves on a fool-proof plan for keeping their power.

((Just thought I should mix things up back home. We need some excuse to actually take the city anyways.))

The major army retreated, but Atlas did not, for whatever reason he rode forward with his sword drawn.

He cut down every one in his way, quickly the
barbarians fell, each man who got in his way would be slaughtered.
What would happen to the rest of the army he cared little, they did not follow his plan and so their lives were in their own hands. Any who wished to follow him could, but as he rode he shouted and order to Remial

"Have the dwarves cut off our men's path, force them back into battle."

ooc: he is doing this to annihilate the barbarians no matter what the cost

ic:

"Of course madam, I will show you my castle and lands."
Exeter said rising gracefully.

ooc: No, he won't fight him
(I have this RPG set to be at least three times the length of Timeless so for the time being just try not to see what he is planning on doing, see him as Kelli is going to, she and he are actually going to run much of the country together, under Atlas. Trust me, I have a plan.)

Zhash couldn't believe what Atlas was doing. It wasn't right! Couldn't Atlas see that he surely had the disadvantage? He was going to get killed out there. Zhash feared the defeat of the army was at stake.

There wasn't time for Zhash to try and reverse Atlas' commands, or the means either. Notching an arrow, Zhash let fly a long shot that fell a Barbarian that was a bout to hit Atlas from behind. Zhash could see as the Barbarian's own raised sword fell on his dead body.

Atlas, why are you being so careless? Zhash, however, knew he had no control of Atlas. All he could do now was the best he could. Raising his hand and then sending it forward, Zhash ordered the advancement of the archery unit, as most of the action was now out of range.

A small march brought the archer's to the rift mounds created by the dwarves and gnomes. Taking cover behind these rifts, the archers shot a new volley on the less protected Barbarians. Zhash found himself shooting more and more Barbarians who were about to get Atlas and others of his closest followers in the back.

Borscht's eyes widened as he realized the Yitain army was not going to retreat after the latest onlsaught. He had no further plans. The Yitain's were supposed to retreat, not keep coming. However, he relaxed when he realized he still had the advantage, especially now that the enemy had nowhere to retreat to. Weilding his own heavy battle axe, Borscht charged into the fray, felling Yitain's left and right. A furor developed in him so fierce that it radiated to those around him. Soon, Borscht had a small circle of elite warriors around him who fed off his fury and were impervious to all danger. This small fury swept its way across the battle field, slaying every enemy it came too. Soon, it came across the area of Atlas himself.

Feeling the momentum of his own battle fury, Borscht threw the Barbarians toward Atlas. He knew that if he could kill Atlas, the victory would soon be his.

A new round of steel on steel could be heard as the two nearly unbeatable contingents clashed with eachother. Many of Borscht's men fell before him, but he kept going toward Atlas, slaying anyone who got in his way. Soon, Borscht would come upon Atlas himself, and he would be vicotorious.

((Ok, do whatever you want with Borscht. No matter what you do, do it the way you want it to happen. His story is coming to a close, so it's okay if he dies. He's served his part. Just, don't make me kill him. If you want to kill him, do it in your next post, or give me other instructions, please.))
