This was on another thread, and is what prompted me to ask if any of you have encountered actual prophecies or actual prophets filled with the Holy spirit. We hear so much about false ones, but i was curious to know what stories there are of real ones/ any prophecies that have come true?

the reason so many people deny the true prophets is because they've seen so many false ones. it's sad, but just because there are false prophets that doesn't mean that there aren't any real ones still around. God always preserves a REMNANT for Himself just as He did in the days of Elijah. and they're usually on the backside of the desert.... they are the ones with no names and no huge followings. these are the ones that God is calling to forefront right now, because they're not looking to make a name for themselves. they are only looking to lift up the name of Jesus
Amen to that, Jazzy!

Does anyone have personal testimony of this or have heard of stories similar to this that they can share?

Well, I heard from a prophet who I used to visit that I would be preaching and I would be making documentaries. I don't even make documentaries! But I do preach the doctrine.

my pastor is a prophetess. she has spoke over my life many times. nothing she's ever prophesied over me has been false or didn't come true. i've grown tremendously since i've sat under her teaching, and i've never been this close to the Lord at any other time of my walk with Him. i have definitely seen the benefits of sitting under a true prophetic anointing in my life. when you've witnessed the real anointing it's hard to settle for anything less than that. that's why i have a desire to see the true prophets of God raised up instead of these counterfeits that have been deceiving the Body of Christ. we were discussing this topic in my thread 'a prophet's reward' as well. stuart made a comment that the church is missing something in the absence of the true prophetic ministry, and it most certainly is. i believe that's why so many are being deceived by false anointings, because they are hungering for the real anointing yet no one is willing to be made on the altar so that they can operate in the true anointing. the anointing costs, and not many are willing to pay that price. that's why so many are operating in a counterfeit anointing, because they were not willing to pay the price for the real thing

they could've been saying that God would use you in your future to make documentaries. that's probably what they were referring to. i could definitely see you preaching the Word one day. you have a zeal for God's Word (that is very evident) and at a young age. so it wouldn't surprise me if God used you in such a way. a lot of times we find ourselves doing the very thing God created us to do. for example i'm called to teach the Word so consequently that's what i find myself doing all the time. that's also what i'm most passionate about it. i love studying the Word. i love talking about the Word. i love anything that pertains to the Word. the times i'm most happy is when i'm learning something new in the Word or when i'm teaching or explaining something about the Word, because that is what God created me to do. so God will reveal it to you in due time. and it could be the very thing you find yourself doing all the time is the very thing God has called you to do...

Real prophets of the 21st Century are the Watchmen of the Body of Christ as well. False prophets and teachers today are a dime a dozen!

I learnt the same that Jazzy learnt about false prophets. Many already know your hearts desired through familiar spirits. I have learnt one things from discernment and experience that when a so-called prophet points at you and orders you to stand up, think twice about it, because when you stand, you are then under their control. They then say: "Come out here!" And you get up off you seat and walk out like a lamb going to a slaughter. A real prophet walks around amongst His Sheep and our Lord Jesus Christ points to whom he wants the prophet to pass His Message onto.

Did Samuel and Jeremiah do all these supposedly prophets are doing today? No!

Fourteen years ago, I was invited to go to a healing seminar that was being held at the local Catholic Church. The speaker was a protestant in the healing ministry.

I wasn't going to go to the seminar, as I was feeling tired, and I had a bad afternoon in the back yard working in the garden and with our Lord Jesus Christ. I hit HIM with both barrels, and I wasn’t a happy little vegemite.

We had a heated discussion.

Anyway, at the last minute that night, I relented and went to the meeting.

I sat there for two hours and listened to nothing, but a lot of stuff that I had already knew, and I shook my head knowing that I should have stayed at home. The speaker then plugged his arsenal of books that he had written, etc., etc.

He then asked if there were anyone who needed healing, to come out to the front for prayer. I needed healing, but no way was I going to go out, after what I had been through today.

Anyway, about seven people went out, and nobody went out to assist as “catchers”, which is a normal ritual in the charismatic movement. So, I got up to help, and then six other followed me. I lined up behind this lumberjack. 6ft 3ins, four axe-handles across the shoulders.

As the speakers moved along the line he placed his hand on the forehead of this large bloke, and immediately he topple backwards. I caught him, and his weight drove me to the ground, but gently, we collapsed together. I was trying ti disentangle my body from under the giant.

As I slid out from under him, and began to get up, the speaker turned around to me and said our Lord has a word for you, and he placed his hand on me and I slumped down beside the big bloke.

The speaker began to prophesy over me, and he spoke about everything that our Lord and I discussed in the backyard of my home. Word for word, today, those words have come to pass.

Blessings!:)

there is a difference between someone who operates in a prophetic gift and someone who operates in the office of a prophet. i think that should be considered when we label certain people as prophets or prophetesses or when we label ourselves as such. i may have the gift of prophesy or even a prophetic ministry or prophetic anointing, but that doesn't mean i'm called to walk in the actual office of the prophet. there is a difference. i think we need to be educated on these levels of the prophetic so we dont walk around labeling everyone as a prophet or prophetess. sometimes we end up mislabeling people who have not been called to this office, and then when they fail we re-label them as false prophets. it's not that they're false prophets. its that they were trying to fulfill a role that God had not called them to! so it is important that we know the difference. i posted a teaching on this subject a while back. there's a copy in my blog if anyone is interested in reading it. it explains the 4 levels of prophetic ministry. maybe i will re-post it in this forum since there is so much talk of the prophetic and prophets. it didn't get a lot of replies. but i believe it is a topic worthy of discussion

Very, very true. I wish more people would understand this position about prophets.

About 20 years ago when I first became Spirit Filled - I went to a church where there was a revival on - a minister from Africa picked me out of a crowd of about 300 and told me that I would have a telephone ministry - I never thought anything about it - but in the early stages of the internet - it was via phone lines - my Diamonds from Heaven site came into being - the poems that the Lord gave me were in answer to people who would write me with problems - they would speak to the person exactly where they were at in the Lord - they have ministered to thousands.

So that prophesy came forth.

A woman can be a prophet, but she cannot be a pastor. So a woman who has taken the position of pastor is out of God’s order and could not be a prophet of God.

(Timothy 2:11-15) “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.”

Remember the Bible is the written Word of God.

:) Yes, please do repost them..maybe start another thread...if it is not too much trouble.
It may clear up some confusion...I often find it confusing, the difference between the "office" of something, somebody who simply is anointed or anointed occasionally to do something, and someone who is just to do something generally as a believer, if you see what I mean.
Evangelism, for example: we're all supposed to witness, yet, there do seem to be people who are much more up for "evangelising" than others - this is so in my case, yet I certainly wouldn't think that I held the office of evangelist.

The gift of prophecy is really here! Clearly the anointing abides in her. (1 John 2:27)

I am a prophet. But I am typically not called to speak to the church body that has already found it's way inside the church walls. My message is for those whom God sends to me. And I know God has sent them because they seek me out and ask me for my testimony.
