  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi all!

I used to be a devoted member of the Assemblies of God church. I used to be quite passionate about sharing Christ with others. I was also involved in a group which was called Jews for Jesus. Its main purpose is to evangelise the Jewish people. When I started reading my bible for myself, I had no other choice but leave both groups. AoG was like a cult, Pastors too authoritarian, Experiences were psychological manipulation, people were trying to be "led by God" not thinking for themselves. And I'm sorry to say but J4J is quite deceptive. They lead Jews to think their group is Jewish. Its one thing to talk about the advantages of Christianity. But to deceive people for the sake of sharing Christ just seems wrong. Anyways now I've decided to re-learn the Bible from the beginning and I need help. I'm struggling with lots of passages at the moment.

No matter how hard I try I simply cannot get my pea-sized brain to reconcile Romans 11 (where Paul says all Jews will be saved) with our need to come to Christ to be saved. Several Jews have died throughout the centuries without knowing Christ. Can you see the contradiction? Nobody comes to God except through Christ. Yet Paul says Jews will be saved. Sounds like a contradiction.

I guess I'm just looking for a straight answer. Do my Jewish friends need Christ to accept Christ or not? If they don't, are they in risk of eternal damnation?

Blessings!

I talked on Jews for Jesus chat line for a couple of years,I was always gettin bumped off for what I said. There was always observant Jews who came on debating and JfJ always bumped them off cause they dint believe in Yeshua.I would always get so mad because I had a passion to talk to Jews who didn't believe in Yeshuah,I wanted to debate and I didn't care what they said.I made some really good friends with a couple of Jews that dint believe in Yeshua.I have so much respect for them because they had alot of passion for the G-d of Israel.Whatever yeshuah is or aint,he is the G-d of Israel.Alot of people say Jesus this and Jesus that and Arrafat makes a big deal cause Israel wont let him attend Chistmass in Bethleham.

I worship the G-d of Abraham,so do muslims,so do christians.

We are all born to a religion, what your parents believe, that's what you will believe.

You have takin your belief to a new unheard of level, nobody does that anymore, your alone. You have takin your soul in your own hands, that's impressive. If by chance you continue, please feel free to be hated and enjoy it.it's so cool

Not to derail, but Flavius do you really believe that the god of the Islam is the same true G-d of the fathers?
No I don't think he is the same G-d but then some people worship a different Jesus than me but I believe that the Muslims believe that they worship the G-d of Abraham.

I believe that Alla is derived from Ellohim. This might be wrong but that's what I came across when searching it and they do acknowlege,Moses,Adam,Abraham. There is a link allbeit confused.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad I'm not alone. I still need your help: do my Jewish friends need to accept Christ to be saved? I no longer believe everything is as straightfoward as the J4J makes it look. I can't figure that one out on my own. Am I missing something?

Personally I don't believe Jews have to accept Christ but my opinion might be a minority here,When Joshuah adressed them at Jericho I believe. He said that they have always been blind, and the NT. talks about them being blind for the sake of gentiles.I have spent hundreds if not thousands of hours debating with orthodox Jews and I never got no where, in the beggining I thought it was important to try but I no longer feel that way.I just accept them for who they are and admire them for the passion they have for Hashem.
