  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Wrong. When you've been in here as long as a lot of us have, you get tired of seeing the same ol' "Does Anyone Else Like (Insert band name here)?" threads. But thanks for making that groundless accusation.

Newbies should simply take a few minutes and scroll through the existing threads to see if one- or five- is already up dealing with that subject.

and I am sure there are many many people out there who have been around on these forums EVEN longer than we may have!!

Maybe we should have a little bit of patience with new forum posters, I remember what it felt like when I first started posting, trying to think of something to join in with, or start, or just even post!

:)

I wasn't displaying a lack of patience with new forum posters when I made my original comment.

I was agreeing with another response, with my personal brand of sarcasm, which "churchrat" and the OP didn't pick up on. A little too anal-retentive, I suppose.

I fear to hear the new album. I've been a long time fan of them since I first heard them many years ago, way before Fallen came out. I have to admit the stuff they had before Fallen was so much better. Granted, a lot of the songs they redid were better produced. Songs like My Tourniquet sounded a lot better with the professional mastering, but they also lost a lot of what made them origional. Songs like Eternal (an electronic instrumental) never made it to the album.

I fear the next album simply because Ben is no longer with them. They worked so well as a team, he and Amy, because he did the music and she did the lyrics. Without Ben... well, I guess we will wait and see.

Must you get so upset? If I got the point you were trying to make, I wouldn't have asked. Your response here gives me the impression that you might not have a point.

Maybe you misinterpreted my post and had a knee-jerk reaction? This issue isn't really substantive anyway.

I'll stay on topic by repeating my support for MIS's post: "great on cd. terrible live." That basically sums up Evanescence, which explains my original post.

Hopefully we're all clear now...

Oh. I suppose your use of gigantic bold fonts isn't intended to imply any particular level of emotional intensity.

I've watched no less than three live performances on various television broadcasts, and, while the band was average, Amy Lee was absolutely horrible every time. Couldn't stay in pitch...

I really liked them when "Fallen" was first released but after one horrible concert, one bad DVD, one of the most vital members (Ben MoodY)of the band quits, and Amy Lee said something I disagreed with in a interview; They are okay now. Its like once you get to know the band its not the same. The concert WAS THE WORST I have ever been to. Her voice isn't as song as it is on the CD and she was off key in a lot of songs. Also her breath support stucked really bad and her voice was to airy. It was just not good!
