  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So here is the situation:

My father-in-law went into the hospital last night. My wife took of early this morning to visit him and most likely will not be back until late afternoon. And she took the car seat so I am stuck at home until she gets back.

Last night she brewed the last of the coffee and there is about 2 cups that have been sitting overnight.

Do I suck it up and go without coffee this morning or heat up the old coffee?

And secondly, is that a death penalty offense, or should I just kneecap her to teach her a lesson?

By Biblical precedent, you should punish her and her children. And then remove any evidence of such coffee ever existing, just for good measure.

NO COFFEE!!? Them's "grounds" fer divorce.
So she leaves me without coffee and then she gets half? Where is the justice in that?

That is the direction I was leaning.

Sounds like someone is not supplying enough bacon for the household.
No. Bacon we have. Kind of. It's turkey bacon. Does that count?

1. Look around your neighborhood for woody shrubs with blue or lavender flowers.
2. Take some of the root, grind it up, and add it to the used coffee grounds.
3. Brew a new pot.
4. Add 1/2 mug warm milk to 1/2 cup coffee/chicory.
5. Enjoy a poor approximation of the terrifying brew served by Mothers Cafeteria in New Orleans.
