The reason a person ends up in the lake of fire is simply one singe uncomplicated reason. The person never believed in Jesus and in turn, never received God's free gift of Eternal Life (The Life of God). It requires The Life of God, to be able to live with God for eternity.

Yes, it really is that simple, which is why billions of humans, who will have never had the opportunity to even hear the name of Jesus Christ, much less believe in Him, will be cast into the lake of fire which burns forever and ever.

Well it is stated by Paul a few times that the whole world has heard.

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

So if there is an area now that has not heard about Jesus now. Looks like it is because their area in the past had either rejected Jesus or the ones who did believe as time move along. Were replaced by people who rejected the faith of their ancestors.

You might wish to believe that, but unless that is understood metaphorically and not literally either Paul was incredible ignorant of the existence of people such as American natives and Chinese, to name but two, or he was lying through his teeth.

Assuming, for the sake of discussion, that Paul's meaning was metaphorical and that, indeed, all humanity is able to be held accountable for the general evidence for the existence of a Creator, based on creation alone, then faith in Jesus Christ must also be understood metaphorically, rather than literally, such that any individual who determines that there is a Creator and responds positively, will be saved.

Don't like that idea? Then, please explain how Hu Shi Quan in Hubei, China, having died in 1438 A. D. never having heard the name of Jesus Christ, could have heard about the "faith spoken of throughout the whole world".

...I do not have a problem with the verse. So i do not need to explain how a Chinese person 1000's of years later has never heard about Jesus. Prove that the area this Chinese person was from, around the time of Paul, was not given the word about Jesus.

...It is plainly seen by the example of Phillip that The Holy Spirit was working miracles in regard to getting people to places. The example of The Holy Spirit taking Phillip away, shows that travel would have not been obstacle during that time to spreading the word about Jesus.

I will go one better. Not a single individual living in either North or South America during the time of Paul was remotely capable of hearing a single thing from areas of the world that were physically separated from them. You need to prove to me that somehow, miraculously, these folks were not only connected to Palestine, but that they also were fluent in Greek, Latin, Aramaic, or Hebrew. Moreover, you need to prove to me that not a single individual in the Americas responded to the Gospel, which is the power of God to salvation, thus explaining why there were no Christians, much less a church anywhere in North or South America, when Leif Ericsson discovered the North American continent.
