It takes confirmation bias to set too much store in scripture.Usually I'm asked to back my beliefs up with Scripture so they can do one of two things: accuse me of being brainwashed, or "trample the pearls."
But being accused of "confirmation bias" after I back something I believe up with Scripture is somewhat new to me.
It's probably nothing more than a cheap attempt to dissuade me from using the Sword in future discussions.
Your memory? In contrast to you, my family had been in Berlin when it was captured by the Red Army.Um ... for the record ... "we" smoked Berlin, then held back and let the Soviets have it in retribution for the Soviets did to them.
(If my memory serves me correctly.)
So unless your family had binoculars or a telescope ...
Your memory? In contrast to you, my family had been in Berlin when it was captured by the Red Army.
You couldn't have set a foot on European soil, had the Russians (you know, the evil commies that you so valiantly fought) not defeated the main german armies.
But still YOU (singular) have done nothing at all in that regard, and so you haven't any justification to include you in this special group.
It takes confirmation bias to set too much store in scripture.
Exactly. So I would ask to not to talk about "us" or "we" when you are talking about things that you were not involved in.What are you talking about ME for?
I wasn't even born yet ... LOL.
That's exactly it. You can find anything in there to "support" whatever you want. It's the same effect as you get with the I-Ching or the astrology pages of any cheap rag you care to mention.LOL ... I quoted one verse out of roughly 31,240 ... and you call that "strong confirmation bias"?
Exactly. So I would ask to not to talk about "us" or "we" when you are talking about things that you were not involved in.
Barry, this isn't being done in a vacuum. That's exactly it. You can find anything in there to "support" whatever you want. It's the same effect as you get with the I-Ching or the astrology pages of any cheap rag you care to mention.
The USA did not post an irrelevant youtube video, not make even more irrelevant comments about it.... YOU did.Um ... when speaking of a country as a whole ... "we" and "us" are appropriate.
Did we win WW2?
No. Luke wrote, "And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."Barry, this isn't being done in a vacuum.
Jesus said,
Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
I'm not going to disagree with that, just so I can avoid someone calling it "confirmation bias."
Was Jesus employing "confirmation bias," when He said it?
Jesus said it -- that settles it.
The USA did not post an irrelevant youtube video, not make even more irrelevant comments about it.... YOU did.
Take responsibility for your mistakes, not for other peoples achievements.
Jesus said,
No. Luke wrote,
The Allies won WW2... which included more than just the US.
Well, the book is called "Luke", is it not?I would say right here is where your problem lies.
"We" meaning who?
Obviously not you and me, as we weren't born yet.
Nor where you a combattant. You guys can't answer a simple question like that, can you?
That's too bad.
I'll proudly say we won WW2.
But then -- I'm not a scientist.
