Escaping The Days To Come

"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." (Luke 21:36 KJV)

Hey, I read this and was wondering why I haven't heard anyone that is a christian praying to escape the days to come (especially when it says always to pray for this). Have you heard anyone praying like this?

Any thoughts or opinions?

We are to pray that we are worthy.

The sense of the passage is not that we get out of suffering tribulations, but that we escape from them in a way where we can still stand before the Son of Man in confidence.
