Oh now you have to agree to terms in order to blow your nose, lol.

I'm sure we've since agreed a thousand times. But we didn't give consent before it started. Then again, I think there was no actual law to protect privacy back then either.

But just knowing (in the absence of such laws) that someone is collecting data on you, for the purpose of sharing it with others, so they can make decisions about what kind of person you are, perhaps based on errors in that data - didn't set well with me back then.

Yes, i didn't even think about it....i was just thankful that they were there to "help" me establish credit. I thought they were there to "bless" us with their helpfulness, and that they wanted to see me do good, get established, and build good credit.

I just tried last night, and I still got the same error message that people have been complaining about. It doesn't inspire confidence. The other two agencies were a breeze to freeze, and they required enough info from me to keep Mr. Anonymous from doing it on my behalf, unlike Equifax, which only required minimal proof of identity.

Well, I got a freeze at Esperian and Equifax, but opted for the credit "lock" at Transunion through their credit monitoring option (free). Freezes are free for seniors. My mother had to do an over-the-phone freeze with Transunion because of failing one or more of online questions for the online freeze option. I don't know why the online freeze attempt for transunion asks verifying questions but the phone option does not.
