Christian believers should always remember and acknowledge where they came from. Paul captured this in his letter to the Ephesians, where he wrote that Gentiles were formerly "separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without G_d in the world" (Eph. 2:12) I think few Christians today fully appreciate that before the coming of Christ, unless a Gentile had joined himself to the G_d of Israel, he had "no hope" of salvation and was "without G_d." Does everyone fully appreciate the gravity of that? I would think a more thought provoking reading and understanding of Ephesians is warranted. It is my humble opinion too many "Christians" take their position and place in Christ and salvation for granted. They should humble themselves before G_d and Jesus and ask the Holy Spirit to show them how they can better serve G_d, their fellow Christians, as well as mankind.
