There is a difference between losing your cool or raising your voice from time to time, and the ongoing, escalating, degrading and intimidation of another person

Indeed there is. But what is the difference? Where is the line drawn? And do these studies take that into account? Any relationship (familial, romantic, platonic, professional, whatever) can be classified as abusive if the subjects spend enough time together under observation.
