Enjoying life and being a disciple

Dear Ben Collyer. How to enjoy life and be a follower of Christ, a Disciple? Jesus told us in Matthew 22: 35-40: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it. In verse 40 we are told: On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. God is Love, and God wants loving and caring sons and daughters. The Bible tells us:
Give up all our selfish desires and wishes, ask for Love and Joy and compassion, then thank God and share all love, joy and compassion with our neighbour: all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends. Always be kind and loving. God wants loving men and women. In Matthew 7:7-10: we are told:Ask and you shall receive. We keep asking for love, joy and compassion, then thank God and share and share all love, joy and compassion with our neighbour. God sees our loving and caring, and God will Bless us greatly. Love is very catching, and we will be God`s obedient sons and daughters. Why not try is, Ben? Let Jesus lead us all the way, Jesus is the WAY. Jesus died that we might live. If your life revolves around sin and pride and laziness and devotion to celebrities and empty talk and worldliness and vanity and trying to impress the opposite sex and get rich and being entertained and diversion in the most secular sense, then obviously you cannot love that and be a Christian.

If your life revolves around love for God, prayer, worship, reading your Bible, doing good works, fasting, obedience, humility, charity, loving your neighbor, being devoted to your family and your lawful authorities, and being a beacon for others, and you have been crucified to the world, then you ought to love this life.

When you have given your life to Christ Jesus you are no longer part of the world, with that said your joy and happiness is assured with your new family, the body of Christ and your saviour. If you find this wanting then search your soul as to whom you actually serve as this will save your life, life everlasting that is.

Jesus said:

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
