My twin brother and I play in restaurants, wine tastings, sipping socials, etc. We perform on Wednesday nights from 7 pm to 9:30 pm here. This is a sample of our music: ‪Denny and Dave and another take on Because‬‏ - YouTube

Our first gig was while we were stationed aboard the same destroyer in 1970. During a stop in Mombasa, Kenya, we were requested to walk among a gathering of dignitaries as we played instrumentally. Our next job was in a country bar on Jacksonville Beach, then, from there, we moved in different directions.

From 1972 to 1980, I helped to lead worship for several church groups. It's a tough commitment when you have to be in attendance every time the church doors are open for a service. I finally burned out.

Today, we get paid to play, unlike church work. But then, I'm not at all in favor of the direction Christian music has taken with its mosh pits and performance-centered focus. I preferred to promote reverence and worship as opposed to "praise," or the jumping around to screaming music that can lead one to develop permanent ringing ears -- which I have from working with pneumatic tools and shooting artillery.

Personally, I think it's sad what is being offered today as Christian music compared to what came out of the 70s.
