I believe Christ's return is imminent but in the future. I believe Christ returns "in the air" before the Great Tribulation is over (mid trib) and raptures all the born again believers living at that time. Then, after the Great Tribulation, Christ returns "to Mount Olive" and begins his 1000 year reign on earth. So that makes my profile a futurist, mid tribulation, premillennialist. But I am not dogmatic about this opinion, for the Bible teaches we are to be concerned about today, not tomorrow. :)

I'll take a stab at this... (might not be entirely accurate on all accounts, but is my general understanding)

Preterists basically believe that the various end times events were fulfilled in AD 70, with the destruction of Jerusalem at the hands of the Romans. There are "Full" and "Partial" preterists, divided basically along the lines whether the second coming has (full preterism) or has not yet occurred (partial preterism).

Futurists contend with Preterists, basically in how they interpret the word and believe their interpretation is inaccurate, that the end times events (second coming, etc.) have yet to occur (future).

Historicists [some] argue the end times events of Revelation on the basis of Revelation having been written in AD 96 and would then take issue with the stance of Preterists and their beliefs of the AD 70 events. Others see no issues with dates.

Premillenialists believe that Christ will physically be present for His millenial reign on earth - key end times issue is that of Christ's return (second coming - and final judgment of humanity) prior to His millenial reign.

Postmillenialists believe Christ's return (and final judgment) will occur AFTER His millenial reign

Amillenialists don't believe in a thousand-year reign at all and thus dispute both pre- and post-millenialists, that Christ's return (and final judgment) will occur without a millenial reign or period on earth.

Tribulationists (all) believe in a Rapture of the church (all Christians), a period of intense tribulation for those on earth, Christ's second coming, and a millenial period of Christ on earth prior to final judgment.

Pre-Tribulationists believe the Rapture will occur PRIOR to the tribulation (Christians will not experience any of the tribulation)
Mid-Tribulationists believe the Rapture will occur MIDWAY during the tribulation (Christians will experience half of the tribulation)
Post-Tribulationists believe the Rapture will occur AFTER the tribulation (Christians will experience the full tribulation)

What all Christians agree on is:
Christ will return again
There will be a judgment day
Judgment will be final, those who value Christ and God will remain forever with Him, those who do not value Christ or God will remain forever without Them.

I can't comment on your definitions of the categories, because those categories seem to peculiarly American.

But I do need to correct this bit:
What all Christians agree on is:
Christ will return again to take those who are His to be with Him
There will be a judgment day
Judgment will be final, those who value Christ and God will remain forever with Him, those who do not value Christ or God will remain forever without Them.
The part in red needs to be removed. Christ will return, but not to take those who are his away but to bring the Kingdom of God to Earth.

Done - so as not to seem peculiarly American. :(

DerSchweik- Ebia made the comment he did because practically all of those ideas/categories mostly seem to have appeared in America.

Before then, everyone just pointed to the Nicene Creed as to what the Christian view of the end times is.

Can anyone explain what all the end times beliefs in the profile page are?

Historic
Preterist
Fururist
Amillennialism
Premillennialism
Postmillennialism
Pretribulation
Midtribulation
Posttribulation

Not really, there is a good wikipedia page on these matters:

Christian eschatological differences - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Personally, I would point out Jesus said 'the angels in Heaven, even the Son do not know of that day or hour, but only the Heavenly Father'.

Such knowledge has limited usefulness, there can be endless debates on matters which are locked away... but the Spirit within can reveal whatever we 'need to know' whenever we need to know it.
