  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Kirk Franklin - Don't Cry Lyrics

(...and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall
no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or
pain; the first things have passed away. Revelations 21:4)

Why do you cry? He has risen.
Why are you weeping? He's not dead.
Why do you cry? He has risen.
Why are you weeping? He's not dead.
He paid it all on that lonely highway.
And His anointing I can feel
He shed His blood, for my transgressions
And by His stripes we are healed.

Why do you cry? He has risen.
Why are you weeping? He's not dead.
So as you go through life's journey
Don't you worry, lift up your head.
Don't you cry, stop your weeping
He has risen, He's not dead.

Chorus:
Don't cry
Wipe your eyes
He's not dead

Don't weep
He's not asleep
Jehovah
He's not dead

Chorus
(with modulation repeat 4x's)

"...for it is time to seek the Lord..." Hosea 10:11b

Buzz off, buzzard!
By John Fischer

Mark Peevler, who, as far as I can tell has a farm in Texas (what does a city boy like me know about these things), is responsible for our "catch" today. He cites Paul's observation in Romans 1 about the hand of God in the natural world as giving him the right to the spiritual impact of this story, and I think he's right on.

My 10-year-old son and I had gone to feed our horse, and as we drove up to the gate we found a big event was going on. In the pasture across the road, a new calf had just been born. The cow was still cleaning the afterbirth. The calf was lying so still that at first we thought there might be something wrong with it. Now within a few feet of the calf there were four or five buzzards eagerly eyeing the calf. Yes, buzzards are known to attack a young vulnerable animal until they cause it's death, and produce a meal. This is where the story gets interesting. Another cow other than the calf's mother was determined those buzzards were not going to get near the newborn.

As one big bird landed on the ground, this cow would make a run at it like a bull chasing a matador. If one landed on a fence post, she charged as if the fence wasn't even there. While she was thus engaged, the calf finally moved its head and we knew it was alive, and the mother merely continued on with her cleanup process.

Now my son and I had seen cows grazing in the field with birds standing on their backs, or eating all around them, and they could care less. Somehow, this cow knew that these buzzards represented harm and possible death, and she was determined to do whatever was necessary to protect the mother and the baby.

I have a degree in animal science, and have taken animal behavior classes, but I couldn't begin to tell you how she had that knowledge without our Heavenly Father placing it there. And by doing so, I believe He taught me an important lesson. If we could just help our fellow believers in this world by fighting off the buzzards of life until the weak are strong enough to stand, and those around them are given the opportunity to do their jobs without having to fight the distractions, we would all be much stronger Christians, don't you think?

Later that evening, we went back and there stood the little calf all wobbly-kneed next to Mom. The other cow sat on the other side of the pasture chewing her cud. Under most circumstances, no one would have witnessed the earlier events, and admired the cow for her selflessness or thanked her for her kindness. I just know she performed the purpose God gave her at that moment without any thought of what she would gain by it. I'm just thankful that God let my son and I share the moment.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:23-25

Douglass’ Paralyzed Legs Miraculously Healed

Douglassfrom South Carolina

In 1960 I was run over by a pickup, and the accident nearly took my life. I had internal injuries, my back was broken, and I was paralyzed from the waist down. The doctor gave my mother little hope that I would make it through the first night.

Although I made it through the night, I lay in the hospital for months, unable to do anything for myself. Each day I could hear the doctor and my mother talking outside my room, and I could hear my mother sobbing and praying for me.

I had a little transistor radio, and one Sunday morning I heard Oral Roberts preaching a sermon. Afterward, Oral asked those who were sick to touch the part of their body that needed healing and to lay their hand on the radio as a point of contact. I responded in faith.

As Oral prayed, I felt as if there were needles sticking in my legs! I heard a voice inside me saying, “Get up. You can walk! Get up. You can walk!” At first I ignored it, but the voice became more compelling. So I sat up and put my feet on the floor, and for the first time in months I began to walk! A nurse came in and saw me walking and almost fainted.

As Oral prayed that Sunday morning, God healed me! My physical healing was not the only miracle that came from Oral’s prayer that day. My life became rooted in God’s plan, and I’ve been preaching the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ ever since!

My Declaration of Faith for Today

Let Go, Let God

In partnership with God, I live from the understanding that greater good is possible.

Dear God, I feel Your presence in this moment of contemplation. Becoming still and releasing concerns of yesterday and thoughts of tomorrow, I experience the ease that comes from thinking only of You.
In this state of restful meditation, I renew my faith in Your spirit to bring order, peace, abundance, and wholeness to all outer conditions. There is nothing in this universe that exists outside You.
Thank You, God, for healing, protecting, and guiding me and those who are dear to me. I release and let go more completely, so that I may experience Your presence even more fully.
Living from the understanding of our partnership, I know greater good is possible.
“Who is a rock, except our God? The God who has girded me with strength has opened wide my path.”—2 Samuel 22:32-33

Just a mustard seed, you said
just a mustard seed of faith to remove
the mountain of doubts and difficulties
which beset our often frail existence.
We readily confess, Lord Jesus
that there are times when we reach out
seemingly in vain for that mustard seed.
And yet, if we did but think for a moment
in that very act of reaching out
we reveal the presence
of the very seed that we seek.
Lord Jesus we have faith in your power to heal
but lack the self-confidence to ask.
We have faith in your ability to mend broken hearts
but lack the experience in our own lives.
We have faith in your power to bring wholeness
into lives that are incomplete
but hesitate to trouble you with our prayers.
We are like children, Lord Jesus
standing here in awe of your power and love
afraid to ask that which we know is possible
because we are afraid
of the consequences of our asking.
Lord Jesus, accept the mustard seed
that we hold out to you, hearts outstretched.
Take it and the prayers that we offer
and grant us the grace to accept
that our prayers are heard and answered
at the moment of asking
by a God who knows our own incompleteness
and is working to make us whole

You can find the whole article on the above link.. this is just a part of it.. and also the link above is printer friendly!!

The Rev. Jonathan Holston wrote it!!

I came to grow in God's love for me on a mission trip to India. Having flown into Bombay with several other persons, I looked forward to a wonderful opportunity. I soon found out the group was expected to separate and I would be traveling on my own for three weeks. It was completely unexpected. To say I was terrified would be an understatement. I had become fearful of the opportunity that became a bundle of stress. Waiting for a taxi to the airport, I encountered a great deal of disappointment. I did not speak the eight or more languages and was at a disadvantage in my own mind. As I waited in the center surrounded by darkness, I lamented my fate. It was as if the Lord heard my cry as a gentleman, who I later learned was a pastor, arose and startled me. We entered into a conversation, and I mustered enough courage to tell him my plight. He indicated to me that a taxi was waiting. I could not believe it, but it was true. I thought to myself that God is good. As the taxi driver proceeded to the airport, I realized either he was lost or I was about to be left on the side of the road. He pulled over and proceeded to unload my bag. I became disillusioned again. Why is this happening to me? I'm 8,000 miles from home; and there was no phone booth in sight, and if I could call home, no one could assist me. I began to pray. In my spirit, I felt a sense of relief and a thought came to my mind. Really, three questions arose in my thinking; namely, what would my wife do in this situation? Well, she would put her luggage back in the taxi, so I did. The second question that came to mind was what would my then-14-year-old son do in that moment. He would get back in the taxi, so I did that as well. The third thought that came to my mind was, essentially, what would my then six-year-old daughter do in that situation. She would be scared and would be hysterical in the moment. I felt that I had nothing to lose at that point and proceeded to yell and draw attention to myself. The taxi driver was dumbfounded with this behavior, yet there was several men waiting by the road. One of them walked to the car and asked in English whether he could help me. I was astounded! Yes, you can help me! He explains to the driver where I needed to go and I arrived. I thought about Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me," but it was not about me. It was about Christ whom I trusted to deliver me, and he did.

A simple story of trust and belief but one Jesus prays for us to believe. I was (un)able to grow in my appreciation of self, but in the tremendous work of mission being done. My expertise was useless for that moment, but God's grace was sufficient. Jesus prays that our relationship with God will be like his and that we will believe. No aimless wondering but a deliberate effort to seek a living relationship through Christ's love for humankind.

What a Healing Jesus

VERSE 1
When walking by the sea, Come follow me, Jesus called
Then all through Galelee, The sick and diseased, He healed them all
Jesus hasn’t changed, His power is just the same as when He walled the shore
This God of yesterday is still the healing Jesus now and ever more

CHORUS
What a healing Jesus, I’ve always found in you
What a healing Jesus, you restore, refresh and renew
You’re my healing Jesus and it’s for such a time as this
Arise on healing wings, Son of righteousness

VERSE 2
The spirit of the Lord now is upon me and it’s anointing me
To heal the broken hearts, open prison doors, set all those captives free
To comfort that mourn and fill their lips with praise, to pour the oil of joy
That they may be called the trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord

REPEAT CHORUS
What a healing Jesus, I’ve always found in you
What a healing Jesus, you restore, refresh and renew
You’re my healing Jesus and it’s for such a time as this
Arise on healing wings, Son of righteousness

TAG
You’re here on healing wings, Son of righteousness

Miracle Account Of A 4 Year Old Boy Who Received 26 Creative Miracles In One Service

Many notable miracles are on record, but one of the most significant occurred March, 1959 in the ministry of A. A. Allen. It was the account of a small boy who received 26 creative miracles in one service. I have been personally privileged to meet and talk with a precious sister who witnessed this outstanding event in Birmingham ~ AL.

R. W. Schambach was A. A. Allen's worship leader at the time and also shares his eye-witness account of this miracle and his role in it. He relates how the mother of this young boy came to him on the last day of a week of healing meetings. This faithful mother had traveled from her home in Knoxville, TN to Birmingham because of her desire for the young boy to be supernaturally healed. That was his only hope since the best of the medical field had given up on him and gave no hope for survival.

The young four year old lad was born with 26 major diseases. He was blind, deaf, and dumb and his tongue protruded from his mouth and rested upon his chin. His arms and legs were deformed and twisted against his body and totally useless. He had no feet and remained curled in a fetal position from the day he was born. He had no male organs and every other major organ in his body suffered from numerous complications. Most doctors said that he would not live to his first birthday. Nevertheless, he was now four years old and in desperate need of God's touch.

The young mother had been to every service for a week and the final day had come. In those days the ministers used prayer cards to determine who would be prayed for. Unfortunately, her prayer card was never called. She personally went to brother Schambach and asked if he would help get her son to the man of God for prayer. Brother Schambach promised that he would, but that never became necessary since the Lord had other plans.

When the service began, A. A. Allen took an offering that challenged the people into the supernatural realm of faith. As a gesture of faith, this young mother was the first to put $20 in the offering. Like the widow woman in the Lord's ministry, it was all that she had. As the man of God began the service, he stopped his preaching and announced that he was going into a spiritual vision.

In his vision, Allen found himself in the maternity ward of a hospital where a small boy was just born. He saw the doctors pronounce a death sentence on the lad with 26 major illnesses. He then watched in his vision as the mother entered an old Ford automobile and drove to that very meeting in Birmingham, AL. He then called for the mother to bring the young boy for prayer.

THE POWER OF GOD OVERSHADOWS THE YOUNG BOY

When he offered the prayer of faith, R. W. Schambach testifies that he saw with his own eyes, the power of God overshadow the boy.

1- First, the tongue of the little fellow corrected itself into his mouth.

2- Next, pools of light entered his eye sockets and beautiful brown eyes were supernaturally created.

3- He then watched his bones begin to snap and crack as his legs and arms came into their perfect place.

4- Then, Schambach watched as the two legs that had no feet suddenly began to change as feet were supernaturally created for the young boy right before the 3000 in attendance.

5- All of his internal organs were perfectly restored.

6- Finally, the tongue of the young lad was supernaturally allowed to speak his first words...Mamma.

I have personally spoken with a wonderful 80-year-old woman who was in the meeting and witnessed this event for herself. This is a token of the kind of creative miracles we are promised in this generation.

Gloria Copeland:

"GOD HAS YOUR MIRACLE ON HIS MIND"

What do you need from God today?

Stop and think about that for a moment. It's a serious question. Picture yourself the way you want to be, healthy and whole in every area of your life. That is the will of God for you, you know. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says He desires you to be "preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)" (Amplified Bible).

God wants you to be sound and complete. It's His perfect will for you to be whole, undamaged and intact--spirit, soul, and body--before Jesus returns. In light of that fact, let me ask you again: What changes would you need God to make for His will to be fulfilled in your life? What would it take for you to be whole?
It would take a miracle.

That may well be what you're thinking right now. If so, I am here to tell you God has one for you. He has as many miracles as you need. He is the God of the miraculous.

What's more, He is thinking about you today. That's amazing, isn't it? The fact that the Almighty God, the Creator of Heaven and earth, has you and me on His mind is almost more than we can comprehend. Yet we know it's true because the Psalmist says, "How precious it is, Lord, to realize that you are thinking about me constantly! I can't even count how many times a day your thoughts turn towards me. And when I waken in the morning, you are still thinking of me!" (Psalm 139:17-18, The Living Bible).

Just imagine that! When you woke up this morning, God was thinking about you. He was aware of your needs. He was mindful of the blessings He has laid up for you, and He was making plans to get them to you.
In other words, when you awoke this morning, God had your miracle on His mind.

Every Part Precious

I preach about healing a lot, and healing is wonderful. But sometimes you need more than healing, you need a miracle. A miracle is different. A miracle is something that is absolutely impossible apart from the supernatural working of God. It's something that cannot happen by natural means.

If you have a disease, you need healing. But if you have a part missing--if you were born without fingers or toes, for example, you need a miracle. For years, it's been prophesied that we will see those kinds of miracles again in the Body of Christ. It's been prophesied that we'll see all the miracles the early Church saw and even greater miracles than those. I sense in my heart that we're there!

I truly believe it. They might say, "Surely, you don't expect to see somebody grow a part on their body where there was no part before!"

Yes, I do. God has parts for people! The Bible says He made all of our parts before we were born, and we can easily believe that. Why is it so unthinkable that He could add another part at a later time if it's needed?
Just before the verses we read that tell of God's thoughts about us, Psalm 139 says:
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them" (verses 14-16).

According to those verses, God wrote down all your members (every part of you) in His book. And because God does all things well, He didn't write them down as broken or missing. He wrote them down as whole and intact.

My friend Billye Brim has revelation of that, so she speaks to her body according to those Scriptures. She says, "My parts are written in God's book. So, parts, I command you to be the way God designed you to be. I command you to be whole and complete in agreement with God's book. All my parts are intact with nothing missing, nothing broken. All the parts of my body function and work as they're designed. I receive what the Book says about me!"

You may not have thought God cared about your parts, but He does. Your parts are as important to Him as they are to you. He made them for you, and He wants you to have them the way He made them. We need to get that revelation, because God is ready to restore some parts. He wants to work miracles!

You might think this would be impossible and, naturally speaking, you'd be right."With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26). "All things are possible to him that believeth" (Mark 9:23)so we need to start believing.

We need to start expecting the impossible!

It's Never Too Late

Of course, people with physical abnormalities or missing parts aren't the only ones who need miracles. Miracles are also needed when natural circumstances have gone on so long that it looks like it's too late for a turnaround. Abraham and Sarah needed that kind of miracle, for example. They needed a child for their lives to be whole and intact. Yet they were well past childbearing age when God told them He was going to give them one. They were about 100 years old.

No doubt, their natural thought was, Even if God did heal our barrenness, it's too late for us now. We're too old. That kind of thing can't happen this late in the game.

But God did it for them, didn't He? He proved that it's never too late for a miracle.

A friend of ours experienced a "never too late" kind of miracle in his family. His name was Justus Du Plessis and although he went home to be with the Lord a couple of years ago, he experienced some amazing things during his lifetime as a Pentecostal minister in South Africa. On one occasion, his father was desperately ill. In fact his father's death was so imminent that the doctor who came to see him went ahead and filled out his death certificate.

After the doctor left, the church members gathered around to pray and while they were praying, he was healed. Do you know what he did? He got up, took a shower, milked the cows and then walked to the doctor's house to return his death certificate.
Talk about a miracle coming late in the game! You know it's late when you have to take back your own death certificate!

Clearly with God, it's never too late for a miracle.

The Definitive Factor

Okay now, you may be thinking, if God wants to give me a miracle and I want to receive one--what's the problem? Why hasn't a miracle already taken place in my life?

For a miracle to get from Heaven to earth, a divine connection has to be made. Miracles aren't magic. They don't just happen--poof!--because God decides to wave His miracle wand one day. No, miracles primarily occur when people put themselves in position to receive them.
To find out how to position yourself for a miracle, you can study the miracles in the New Testament. As you do, you'll see patterns emerge. You will find certain elements were almost always involved when miracles happen.

The first of those elements is faith. Whenever a miracle takes place someone on earth is believing. It might be the person who needs the miracle. It might be the person who is ministering. It might be someone praying for the one who is in need. The situations may vary, but the fact remains that it is faith in God which connects the power of Heaven with the need on earth. For a miracle to happen, someone has to believe that God is willing and able to do it--and do it now.

Galatians 3:5 confirms that. There the Apostle Paul, rebuking the Galatians for their legalism, asks this question: "Does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] what the Law demands, or because of your believing...?" (The Amplified Bible).

The answer is obvious. God works miracles because we believe! We could look at one miracle after another and see that truth in action.

In Mark 5, when the woman with the incurable issue of blood receives her healing, Jesus says, "Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole" (verse 34).

In Mark 10, when blind Bartimaeus receives his sight, Jesus says, "thy faith hath made thee whole" (verse 52).

In Luke 17, when the leper is not only healed but his body parts are restored and made whole from the disease that had eaten them away, Jesus says, "thy faith hath made thee whole" (verse 19).

In Acts 3, when Peter and John heal the man who was crippled from birth, they give glory to the name of Jesus. And Peter says, "And His name through faith in His name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by Him hath given him this perfect soundness" (verse 16).

It's interesting to notice that the power of God isn't mentioned in most of those instances, just the faith of the people. I think that's because God's power and His willingness to heal and work miracles never changes. The variable is people's faith. Faith is the definitive factor. Just Do It

As important as faith is, however, that alone won't get the whole job done. You can't just sit around believing on the inside and doing nothing on the outside. For faith to come alive you have to take action. As James 2:26 says, "faith without works is dead."

You can see the connection between "doing" and "receiving" in the very first miracle Jesus ever performed. I especially like to think about this miracle because it was clearly not a miracle Jesus planned to do. It was one that was drawn out of Him by the person who most wanted that miracle--His own mother Mary.

John 2 tells us that she and Jesus were attending a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the host ran out of wine. Mary looked to Jesus to do something about it. He told her His time to do such things had not yet come, but her faith was unshaken. She continued to expect a miracle, and she turned to the servants and said:
"'Whatever He says to you, do it.' Now there were six waterpots of stone standing there, as the Jewish custom of purification (ceremonial washing) demanded, holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, 'Fill the waterpots with water.' So they filled them up to the brim. Then He said to them, 'Draw some out now and take it to the manager of the feast [to the one presiding, the superintendent of the banquet]'" (verses 5-8, The Amplified Bible).

What happened when the servants did what Jesus said?

They saw a miracle. The water was turned into wine!
It would serve us well to always remember what Mary told the servants that day. She said, "Whatever He tells you to do, do it." That's one of the major keys to receiving a miracle.

Whatever the Lord says to you--do it.

If the Lord tells you to get up and run, then get up and run. If He tells you to dance and shout, then dance and shout. One time a man attended Healing School, and during the meeting the Lord told him to run. He didn't want to run in the meeting, so he ran out the door--ran outside and ran around the block. If you think that's silly, think again, because he came back in healed!
Whatever the Lord tells you to do, do it!

If He tells you to repent of something, you repent. If He tells you to forgive someone, forgive them. He knows what you can do that will bring you into position to receive. So listen for His instructions, then obey!

Kick Doubt Out

Once you've believed and acted on your faith, refuse to doubt or fear. When the devil comes to you and says, You're not going to get that miracle. You don't deserve it. Remember how many times you've failed God. Refuse to entertain those doubt-producing thoughts. Instead, just answer him and say, "Bless the Lord, I don't get what I deserve. I get what Jesus bought for me. I get the mercy of God. I get a miracle!"

Every time I think about refusing doubt and fear, I think about the story of Jairus. Initially, when he came to Jesus, his daughter needed a healing. She was very sick, and Jairus believed if Jesus came and laid His hands on her, she would be healed. But before that healing could take place, Jairus' daughter died. Suddenly the girl didn't just need a healing, she needed a miracle.
Do you know that Jesus wasn't disturbed by that? He knew that God could work a miracle just as easily as He could perform a healing. So He said to Jairus, "Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing" (Mark 5:36, The Amplified Bible). We know that this worked because the little girl was raised up whole.

That's a good word for all of us who are positioning ourselves for a miracle. No matter what the devil says, no matter what our circumstances may say, no matter what our natural senses might try to tell us--if we'll refuse to doubt, refuse to fear, and keep on believing God, our miracle will surely come!

Mountain of God
(I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who mad heaven and earth. Psalm 121: 1-2)

I thought that I was all alone
Broken and afraid
But You were there with me
Yes, You were there with me

And I didn't even know
That I had lost my way
But You were there with me
Yes, You were there with me

'Til You opened up my eyes
I never knew
That I couldn't ever make it
Without You

Chorus:
Even though the journey's long
And I know the road is hard
Well, the One Who's gone before me
He will help me carry on
After all that I've been through
Now I realize the truth
That I must go through the valley
To stand upon the mountain of God

As I travel on the road
That You have lead me down
You are here with me
Yes, You are here with me
I have need for nothing more
Oh, now that I have found
That You are here with me
Yes, You are here with me

I confess from time to time
I lose my way
But You are always there
To bring me back again

Chorus

Sometimes I think of where it is I've come from
And the things I've left behind
But of all I've had, what I possessed
Nothing can quite compare
With what's in front of me
With what's in front of me

Even though the journey's long
And I know the road is hard
Well, the One Who's gone before me
He will help me carry on
After all that I've been through
Now I realize the truth
That I must go through the valley
To stand upon the mountain
Yes, I must go through the valley
To stand upon the mountain

Yes, I must go through the valley
To stand upon the mountain

I thought that I was all alone
Broken and afraid
But You are here with me
Yes, You are here with me

**Third Day**

Oh, Father, how grateful we are to know that You are with us always! You are Jehovah-jireh, our Provider! Jehovah-rapha, our Healer. And You are Jehovah-shalom, our Peace! We stand on these truths and we hold on to them with all our might. No one and nothing else can give us the peace and strength that can be found in Your Presence. You are the Almighty God, El Shaddai, all sufficient for our needs. We believe in You. We trust in You and You are ever faithful. We praise You today and everyday. We exalt You before the nations as we pray in the blessed name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen!

Kathi Pelton:

"THE CHURCH WILL COME OUT OF A TIME OF HOPE DEFERRED--GOD WANTS YOU TO SEE YOUR DESIRES FULFILLED!"

This Saturday my husband and I have the honor of watching our oldest son, Corey, walk through his high school graduation ceremony. As parents we are so proud of him! He has walked a journey through high school of purity and Godly character that has been such a joy to us and an example to many of his peers. He will finish his senior year with a scholarship in hand and a "well done" spoken from his family and friends. But his character and achievements, though they are a wonderful blessing, are not the only things that we will be taking notice of that night, because our son is a walking miracle, and we will be giving the Lord that honor as he graduates.

Hope Deferred

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but when dreams come true at last, there is life and joy" (Proverbs 13:12).
When our son was seven years old, he began to experience some physical problems that had no explanation. He had always been extremely healthy. What began with some small seizures gradually turned into a neurological nightmare for all of us. Though the doctors eventually gave us a diagnosis and placed him on medication that would help the symptoms, his life was severely altered. From that time on, he had no control over many of his bodily functions. Corey had been an avid baseball player but could no longer play without a great struggle. He couldn't function in school any longer, and we had to pull him out and homeschool him. He was also alienated from most of his friends. This ailment not only affected his body but his emotions, leaving him weeping for hours for no apparent reason.
From the day that he was diagnosed, Corey began to tell everyone that God was going to heal him. We stood with him on this statement, although our faith was tested, and often we found ourselves in doubt. Corey never wavered in his faith. As the years went by, this ailment worsened. It began to define his life more and more. Whenever Corey got the chance, he would get someone to pray over him for healing (of course, we were always praying over him). I remember, on two occasions, him literally running after Todd Bentley to get him to pray for him. He wasn't satisfied with briefly getting touched in a "healing line" but wanted to actually be prayed for by Todd (and he was). Although Corey would get discouraged when the healing didn't come, he still never lost faith that he would be healed. My husband and I battled with the sense of hope deferred as the years rolled by without any breakthrough.

The Visitation

"O Lord, You alone are my hope; I've trusted You from childhood. Yes, You have been with me from birth and have helped me constantly--no wonder I am always praising You! My success--at which so many stand amazed--is because You are my Mighty Protector. All day long I'll praise and honor You, O God, for all that You have done for me" (Psalm 71:5-8).

As Corey's 15th birthday approached, he came up to us one day and stated, "God has told me that on my 15th birthday I will be healed!" As a mother I was thrilled and terrified all at the same time (probably more terrified than thrilled). I wanted to believe his statement to be true, but I struggled, wondering if he wanted to be healed so badly that he had "heard" what he wanted to hear, rather than a true message from God. Though I never expressed my fears to Corey, everything in me wanted to protect him from disappointment.

On the morning of his 15th birthday, Corey walked into our kitchen for breakfast with his body manifesting symptoms severely. I asked him if he was discouraged (because he wasn't healed) and he said, "No, I think my body is so bad today because I'm so excited! Tonight I will be healed." He was absolutely sure that he had heard from God.

I would love to tell you that I am a woman of such faith that I was able to put all my fears aside and rejoice with him throughout that day, but that would not be true. It was a terrible day for me. As we celebrated his birthday, I was on the verge of tears the entire day. I didn't know how we were going to comfort him if he woke up the next morning without his healing. Once again, I didn't tell Corey that I doubted. It really was worse than doubt, it was absolute fear. I felt like King David when he wrote:

"I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear. I remember the glorious miracles You did in days of long ago. I reach out for You. I thirst for You as parched land thirsts for rain. Come quickly, Lord, and answer me, for my depression deepens; don't turn away from me or I shall die. Let me see Your kindness in the morning, for I am trusting You. Show me where to walk, for my prayer is sincere" (Psalm 143:4-8).

That night I went to bed wondering if we would wake up to rejoicing or devastation. I struggled to get to sleep, but eventually it came. During the middle of the night I was awakened by the Spirit of the Lord heavy in the house. Angels had filled our home. It felt crowded with the presence of something Heavenly. I didn't get up because I knew that this was for Corey, and I didn't want to interrupt this visitation. I don't know how long this went on, because eventually I fell back asleep, but when I got up the next morning, Corey came into the kitchen and said, "Mom, did you feel that last night?"
Corey had been visited in his sleep, and he was completely healed. He had control of his body and his emotions again. Within a week he was off all of his medications. The next year, Corey went back to public school and was an honors student. He was playing sports again, this time it was rugby, and won a high school award for it. Overnight we had our son back to the way we had known him so many years before. We were living in the joy of desire fulfilled. So, this Saturday, when Corey takes his diploma, it will be not only a great joy for us, but for Heaven!

A House of Miracles

"Hallelujah! I want to express publicly before His people my heartfelt thanks to God for His mighty miracles. All who are thankful should ponder them with me. For His miracles demonstrate His honor, majesty, and eternal goodness. Who can forget the wonders He performs--deeds of mercy and of grace?" (Psalm 111:1-4).
That night, over three years ago, our home became a "house of miracles" as our son was miraculously healed. Although there are many untold stories like this throughout the world, I believe that the Body of Christ is entering a time that the Church will be known as "A House of Miracles." I am not just talking about church buildings, but the Church (the Body of Christ) will come out of a time of hope deferred and will begin to see unprecedented miracles once again. I believe that we will even see resurrections from the dead.

The way that my son ran after Todd Bentley to get healing prayer, many people in the world who need a healing touch will run after those in the Body of Christ to be prayed for. They will run after Jesus like the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-29:
"A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind Him through the crowd and touched His robe. For she thought to herself, 'If I can just touch His robe, I will be healed.'
Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition."

These miracles will stun the medical field, and they will not be able to explain what has happened to patients that they had given up hope for. Many of you reading this will feel a bit like I did when my son announced that he would be healed. Some of you will doubt, and you will wonder if we want this so bad that we "think" we have heard this from the Lord. But, don't be discouraged by your doubt...remember, my doubt did not stop God from healing my son! What God says, He does!

Begin to remind your spirit of these words,
"But I have witnesses, O Israel," says the Lord. "You are My witnesses and My servants, chosen to know and to believe Me and to understand that I alone am God. There is no other God; there never was and never will be. I am the Lord, and there is no other Savior. Whenever you have thrown away your idols, I have shown you My power. With one word I have saved you. You have seen Me do it; you are My witnesses that it is true. From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can oppose what I do" (Isaiah 43:10-13).

The Power of Hope Deferred Broken

"Lord, when doubts fill my mind, when my heart is in turmoil, quiet me and give me renewed hope and cheer" (Psalm 94:19).

Part of the healing that we will experience in the Church is a healing from hope deferred. Due to seeing many in the Body of Christ not receiving physical healing, it has caused us to live without true expectation of seeing miracles. It has been like a disease that attacked our faith. If there was a "cancer of the faith," this would be it. It is not that we are faithless people, but it is that we have lived in a season of time that has been very impotent of witnessing healing miracles. But, that is about to change, and we will be a people who are witnesses of God's miracle working power, because He has said so!

We are entering a season where God is renewing the hope of His people. Though many have been faced with trials that have challenged hope to the very core of their faith, we will see an overcoming spirit arise in the Church that will have the power to overcome the chains of hopelessness, doubt, and despair.

"I am the Lord, Your Holy One, Israel's Creator and King. I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a path right through the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt, with all its chariots and horses, to lie beneath the waves, dead, their lives snuffed out like candlewicks. But forget all that--it is nothing compared to what I'm going to do! For I'm going to do a brand new thing. See, I have already begun! Don't you see it? I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for My people to go home, and create rivers for them in the desert!" (Isaiah 43:15-19).

A Door of Hope

Recently I was reminded of a dream that I had a few years ago. In this dream, I was walking down a narrow corridor that was filled with people "going nowhere." At the end of this corridor, there was a door, but no one was going through it. As a matter of fact, the people in this narrow place were sitting down, some curled up in a fetal position. There wasn't any movement forward, and no one was trying to get through the door at the end of the hall.

I asked the Lord, "Where am I?" And He answered me saying, "In the hallway of hope deferred." Then I asked Him, "What is the door at the end of the hallway?" He responded by saying, "A door of hope."

In this dream I just wanted to get through that door and out of this corridor. But the closer I got to the door, the more crowded it was, and the more depressed the atmosphere became. I could feel myself being pulled down by the very hopelessness in the room which made it very hard to continue forward. The Lord kept calling me forward though. By the time I got to the doorway, I was crawling and feeling such deep pain and despair. It almost seemed comforting to just give up and curl into a ball and let the hopelessness take me over. The closer I got to the door of hope, the harder it was to continue.
Finally I reached the door. I reached for a door knob to open the door but there wasn't one on the door. I cried out to the Lord, "How do I get through the door?" Then He answered me and said, "You must go through this deep pain and fear and push through to joy." As I began to push through the blinding hopelessness, the pain and fear increased, but I didn't stop. I kept pushing through the pain and fear. Then suddenly I remembered His joy again and passed through the door. When I passed through, I entered into a place that was not like anywhere I've ever been. It was a Heavenly place with many colors, no walls, no floor, no ceiling and yet I was held in absolute security. Absolute joy was in this place.
I interacted with people in this new place, and the only way that I can describe what I was experiencing is by saying that I entered into the "Desire of the Nations." It was a place of desire fulfilled, and yet every desire was fulfilled completely in Christ. It was like we were in Him, and waves of desire poured over each of us, and just as desire came, so did the fulfillment. The people in this place were absolutely unified in oneness, because all of our selfish desires had been washed away, and our true desire was being fulfilled again and again...together.

As I remembered this dream, the verses in Hosea 2:14-16 came to me;
"But I will court her again and bring her into the wilderness, and I will speak to her tenderly there. There I will give back her vineyards to her and transform her Valley of Troubles into a Door of Hope. She will respond to Me there, singing with joy as in days long ago in her youth after I had freed her from captivity in Egypt. In that coming day," says the Lord, "she will call Me 'My Husband' instead of 'My Master.'"

I believe that there is a door of hope standing in front of many of you. The process of getting to that door has been very long, difficult, and painful. It seems as though the closer you get to breaking through, the harder it is to want to continue to move forward. Be encouraged! Once the Lord told me that at every one of life's thresholds, there is great warfare, but just as a bridegroom does with his bride, this is the time to let Him carry you over. Don't try to cross over in your own strength, but push beyond the pain and fear, and let Jesus carry you through the doorway. Remember from the Scripture above, "...she will call Me 'My Husband' instead of 'My Master'". He is your Bridegroom, and He is pleased to carry you over this threshold.

You will make it! Push past the place of allowing pain and fear to be your master. You have a Husband who cares for you. Know this: what the Lord says He does! We are His witnesses and He alone is God. No one can oppose what He does! (Isaiah 43:10-13). He loves you and loves to give you your heart's desire.

Rejoice!
