  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Michelle Tumes ~ Healing Waters

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I've built a bridge
All of my strength cannot cross over
I stand at the edge
The end of a road that I have followed
Sinking from the weight of my own world
Wanting the waves of Your ways to wash my feet

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Healing waters
Healing waters
Solace flows
Through the river of forgiveness to my soul
Oh, I need You
Healing waters

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Pour over me
Water to clean all my intentions
Baptising streams
I swim in the freedom of redemption
Floating on the sea of purity
Knowing I can dive in the love that rescues me

Floods so deep they touch the sky
All the things I've done to You
All the parts of life untrue

Testimony of a Resurrection: Stillborn Baby Raised by Praying Teens after 27 Hours

by Aimee Herd : Jul 3, 2008 : David and Kathie Walters Ministries

http://www.goodnews.netministries.org/goodnews.html

"The other villagers came to the house to see this amazing miracle. They asked us which of the Indian gods we had prayed to for such a miracle to happen. We told them we had prayed to the biggest God ever and we began to explain to them about Jesus."

EDITOR'S NOTE: Kathie Walters Ministries has forwarded an amazing testimony involving teenage prayer warriors on a mission trip to Guatemala. God is doing great things among those who are willing to be used of Him. I am reminded of Habakkuk's prayer: "LORD, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of Your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known…" May we ALL be willing to be used by God to bring life in a world filled with death. –Aimee Herd, BCN.

Dear friends,

This is a testimony from a young lady in our church (14), who was part of team used by God to raise a stillborn baby from the dead in Guatemala. We know this young lady personally. Her character and integrity are without reproach. You are about to read a bonafide, contemporary Lazarus resurrection story. This is as close to the flame of a literal resurrection from the dead as we have ever been!

BIG blessings,
Dave and Anita

Testimony from Abby:

"My name is Abby. I am 14 years old. I live in western North Carolina. During the summer of 2008, I went on a ministry trip to Guatemala. During part of the trip, we divided up into small ministry teams (5 to 7 people) and visited different villages in the San Pedro La Laguna area. We traveled from village to village telling the Indian people about Jesus. On one particular day, we were visiting in the home of a young woman. She lived in a small village of about 14 or 15 houses. We were trying to lead the young lady to Christ, but it was not going very well. After awhile, we decided to move on. Before leaving, we asked the woman if we could pray with her about anything in her life. She told us that just the day before, she had given birth to a stillborn baby and that we could pray with her about that.

"In Guatemalan culture, there is great shame and condemnation on mothers who give birth to deformed or stillborn children. We prayed a simple prayer that everything would go well with the funeral and burial of the baby and that the mother would be spared the shame and condemnation associated with having given birth to a stillborn child. As we were praying this simple prayer, my friend and fellow ministry team member, Julia (age 17), told me that we needed to pray over the baby's body. I thought she was crazy to suggest this and that it was not a good idea. Julia was persistent. She said again that we really needed to pray over the baby's body. She told me to ask the mother if she still had the baby's body. When I asked, the mother told us the baby's body was wrapped up in a burial cloth in the back room. I asked her if we could pray over the body. The mother hesitantly said, yes. We went into the backroom and saw the baby's body wrapped up in a bundle on the bed. Julia poked her head out of the back room and asked if she could unwrap the baby's head. The mother said, yes, if we wrapped it back correctly when we were done. Julia picked up the body and unwrapped the head. The baby's head was tiny and pale. The baby was stillborn and had been dead outside the womb for 27 hours. Her skin had turned shades of purple. Our entire ministry team, five of us, began crying and praying over this baby.
praisingwoman.jpg
"We prayed for thirty to forty minutes. At the end of that time, Julia screamed out to God, telling Him that she believed with all of her heart that this baby could be raised from the dead. After Julia screamed out, everyone was silent. We were quietly interceding and praying. Within a few minutes, the baby started moving. Then the baby coughed and began crying. The mother came rushing into the room. She was screaming, what is going on? No one could answer her. We were just staring at the baby, who had come back to life. The mother asked us again, what is going on? She began crying as she saw that her baby was alive. She ran out of the house and banged on every door in the village, telling all of the people that God is real because her baby was alive. Within about thirty minutes, the baby's skin tone and movements had become completely normal.

"The other villagers came to the house to see this amazing miracle. They asked us which of the Indian gods we had prayed to for such a miracle to happen. We told them we had prayed to the biggest God ever and we began to explain to them about Jesus. Soon, we realized we would not have time to minister salvation to each person individually. So, we gathered all the villagers together, turned on our little sound system and explained the way of salvation. Everyone in the village, 80 to 90 people, prayed to receive Jesus. Each of them was baptized in the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues. Many would fall to the ground as the power of the Holy Spirit came on them.

"Five days later, we returned to the village to check in on the mother and the baby. The village had prepared a big dinner in honor of our team. We enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship together. The baby, whom they named Julia, was perfectly healthy and had gained weight. Even after five days, the mother was still shaking from the impact of God on her life through the resurrection of her child. Two days after our follow-up visit, the mother brought baby Julia to church. The mother was still shaking from the power of God on her life following this astounding miracle."

Healing of whole Person.

I want you all to know that God is so awesome,
He loves you and beckons you to come home,
He watches over the sparrows in the air,
And he’s numbered every one of your head’s hairs.

I came to Jesus as a young child of seven,
And now I know I have a new home in heaven,
I don’t feel at home in this world any longer,
For my longing to be with him is getting stronger.

The Word says that “By his stripes I am healed,”
The little word “salvation” means so much more,
Than I first understood it to mean when first I was saved,
For he came and he shook me right to the core.

He has been revealing new truths as to His nature,
To help me to grow up as a Christian more mature,
For Jesus wants to meet us right where we are,
He wants us to come up closer, come up higher.

Now I know what it is to be healed of emotional hurts,
Jesus gave his life for me the just for the unjust,
And he wanted to bring restoration into my life,
That I might walk hand in hand with him throughout life

He came and he wiped away all my tears,
And he came and he rid me of my fears,
He saw me in times of trouble and carried me through,
And he said “ My child I have planned the way for you.”

He saw me sitting sick and afflicted and he met me there,
And he poured out his healing touch for he really cares,
And he looks at you with love and compassion too,
Then he says “ I want set you totally free for I love you.”

What the Lord has done for me he wants to do for you,
He wants to rain down on you his heavenly dew,
With arms open wide he beckons you to come home,
He wants to give restore you totally and make you whole.

So if you have yet to accept this free gift of salvation, freely given,
Why not repent of your sins and you will be on course for heaven?
For today Jesus is looking upon you with love and compassion,
And he wants to birth new life in you making you a new creation.

So choose my friend what you will do with Jesus today?
Be assured there is one way to eternal life, there is no other way,
And Christian are you walking in a life of victory?
Submit all over to Jesus and the place of defeat is history.

Come then friends and know that the Lord wants you to be free,
He wants to take first place it’s not all about you and me,
So come and give your whole self over to him today,
Declaring openly, to all around you, you belong to Jesus today.

Hebrews 12:2
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith...

If you are sick, you must know that you are already healed because of the finished work of Christ. Don’t ask, “Do I have enough faith to be healed? Do I have the right kind of faith to be healed? What if I am lacking in faith?” You are focusing on yourself and your faith, instead of Christ and His finished work.

You should be asking, “Did Jesus really take away this sickness? If He did, He must have done a perfect work.” In other words, fix your eyes on Jesus and His perfect work.

AB Simpson, who lived in the 19th century, wrote an article entitled, Himself. In it, he mentioned his exhausted nervous system, and broken down heart which could have proved fatal any time. So he sought the Lord for healing. God showed him Matthew 8:17, which says that Jesus “Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses”.

AB Simpson said that though he believed that Jesus had borne away his sickness, he saw many hindrances which stood between him and his healing. And they all boiled down to one thing — his preoccupation with his faith! He had believed that if only he had the “right” kind of faith, he would receive his healing instantly.

He eventually came to the realisation that he had to remove that last hindrance — his focus on his faith — and just rest in the finished work of Christ. That revelation marked his complete recovery from his sickness.

When you ask yourself, “Do I have enough faith?” you have already put faith as a hindrance between you and Jesus’ finished work. The more you focus on your faith, the more faith slips away. But if you focus on the finished work of Christ and see God’s grace towards you, God sees that as faith! Without realising it, faith is there in your heart to believe that you will not die of what Christ has already borne away for you completely, and you will see your miracle manifest!

August 1942. Piotrkow, Poland. The sky was gloomy that morning as we
waited anxiously. All the men, women and children of Piotrkow's Jewish
ghetto had been herded into a square. Word had gotten around that we were
being moved. My father had only recently died from typhus, which had run
rampant through the crowded ghetto. My greatest fear was that our family
would be separated.

'Whatever you do,' Isidore, my eldest brother, whispered to me, 'don't
tell them your age. Say you're sixteen.' I was tall for a boy of 11, so I
could pull it off. That way I might be deemed valuable as a worker. An SS
man approached me, boots clicking against the cobblestones. He looked me up
and down, then asked my age. 'Sixteen,' I said. He directed me to the left,
where my three brothers and other healthy young men already stood.

My mother was motioned to the right with the other women, children,
sick and elderly people. I whispered to Isidore, 'Why?' He didn't answer. I
ran to Mama's side and said I wanted to stay with her. 'No,' she said
sternly. 'Get away. Don't be a nuisance. Go with your brothers.' She had
never spoken so harshly before. But I understood: She was protecting
me. She loved me so much that, just this once, she pretended not to. It was the
last I ever saw of her.

My brothers and I were transported in a cattle car to Germany. We
arrived at the Buchenwald concentration camp one night weeks later and were
led into a crowded barrack. The next day, we were issued uniforms and
identification numbers.

'Don't call me Herman anymore.' I said to my brothers. 'Call me
94983.'

I was put to work in the camp's crematorium, loading the dead into a
hand-cranked elevator. I, too, felt dead. Hardened, I had become a number.
Soon, my brothers and I were sent to Schlieben, one of Buchenwald's
sub-camps near Berlin.

One morning I thought I heard my mother's voice, 'Son,' she said
softly but clearly, I am going to send you an angel.' Then I woke up.
Just a dream. A beautiful dream. But in this place there could be no angels. There
was only work. And hunger. And fear.

A couple of days later, I was walking around the camp, around the
barracks, near the barbed-wire fence where the guards could not easily see.
I was alone. On the other side of the fence, I spotted someone: a little
girl with light, almost luminous curls. She was half-hidden behind a birch tree.
I glanced around to make sure no one saw me. I called to her softly in
German.

'Do you have something to eat?' She didn't understand. I inched closer
to the fence and repeated question in Polish. She stepped forward. I was
thin and gaunt, with rags wrapped around my feet, but the girl looked
unafraid. In her eyes, I saw life. She pulled an apple from her woolen
jacket and threw it over the fence. I grabbed the fruit and, as I
started to run away, I heard her say faintly, 'I'll see you tomorrow.'

I returned to the same spot by the fence at the same time every day.
She was always there with something for me to eat - a hunk of bread or,
better yet, an apple. We didn't dare speak or linger. To be caught would
mean death for us both. I didn't know anything about her, just a kind farm
girl, except that she understood Polish. What was her name? Why was she
risking her life for me? Hope was in such short supply, and this girl
on the other side of the fence gave me some, as nourishing in its way as the bread
and apples.

Nearly seven months later, my brothers and I were crammed into a coal
car and shipped to Theresienstadt camp in Czechoslovakia. 'Don't return,' I
told the girl that day. 'We're leaving.' I turned toward the barracks and
didn't look back, didn't even say good-bye to the little girl whose
name I'd never learned, the girl with the apples.

We were in Theresienstadt for three months. The war was winding down
and Allied forces were closing in, yet my fate seemed sealed. On May 10,
1945, I was scheduled to die in the gas chamber at 10:00 AM. In the quiet of
dawn, I tried to prepare myself. So many times death seemed ready to claim
me, but somehow I'd survived. Now, it was over. I thought of my parents. At
least, I thought, we will be reunited.

But at 8 A.M. there was a commotion. I heard shouts, and saw people
running every which way through camp. I caught up with my brothers. Russian
troops had liberated the camp! The gates swung open. Everyone was running,
so I did too.

Amazingly, all of my brothers had survived; I'm not sure how. But I
knew that the girl with the apples had been the key to my survival. In a
place where evil seemed triumphant, one person's goodness had saved my
life, had given me hope in a place where there was none. My mother had
promised to send me an angel, and the angel had come.

Eventually I made my way to England where I was sponsored by a Jewish
charity, put up in a hostel with other boys who had survived the Holocaust
and trained in electronics. Then I came to America, where my brother
Sam had already moved. I served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, and
returned to New York City after two years. By August 1957 I'd opened my own
electronics repair shop. I was starting to settle in.

One day, my friend Sid who I knew from England called me. 'I've got a
date. She's got a Polish friend. Let's double date.'

A blind date? Nah, that wasn't for me. But Sid kept pestering me, and
a few days later we headed up to the Bronx to pick up his date and her
friend Roma. I had to admit, for a blind date this wasn't so bad. Roma was a
nurse at a Bronx hospital. She was kind and smart. Beautiful, too, with
swirling brown curls and green, almond-shaped eyes that sparkled with life.

The four of us drove out to Coney Island. Roma was easy to talk to,
easy to be with. Turned out she was wary of blind dates too! We were both
just doing our friends a favor. We took a stroll on the boardwalk, enjoying
the salty Atlantic breeze, and then had dinner by the shore. I couldn't
remember having a better time.

We piled back into Sid's car, Roma and I sharing the backseat. As
European Jews who had survived the war, we were aware that much had been
left unsaid between us. She broached the subject, 'Where were you,' she
asked softly, 'during the war?'

'The camps,' I said, the terrible memories still vivid, the
irreparable loss. I had tried to forget. But you can never forget.

She nodded. 'My family was hiding on a farm in Germany, not far from
Berlin,' she told me. 'My father knew a priest, and he got us Aryan papers.'
I imagined how she must have suffered too, fear, a constant companion. And
yet here we were, both survivors, in a new world.

'There was a camp next to the farm.' Roma continued. 'I saw a boy
there and I would throw him apples every day.'

What an amazing coincidence that she had helped some other boy. 'What
did he look like? I asked. He was tall, skinny, and hungry. I must have seen
him every day for six months.'

My heart was racing. I couldn't believe it. This couldn't be. 'Did he
tell you one day not to come back because he was leaving Schlieben?'

Roma looked at me in amazement. 'Yes,' That was me! ' I was ready to
burst with joy and awe, flooded with emotions. I couldn't believe it! My
angel.

'I'm not letting you go.' I said to Roma. And in the back of the car
on that blind date, I proposed to her. I didn't want to wait.

'You're crazy!' she said. But she invited me to meet her parents for
Shabbat dinner the following week. There was so much I looked forward to
learning about Roma, but the most important things I always knew: her
steadfastness, her goodness. For many months, in the worst of circumstances,
she had come to the fence and given me hope. Now that I'd found her
again, I could never let her go.

That day, she said yes. And I kept my word. After nearly 50 years of
marriage, two children and three grandchildren I have never let her go.

Now today in my email (I am a subscriber to the Elijah List) they sent a mail with links to Sid Roth's Messianic television program ~ Supernatural.. And this same couple was on there sharing.. and I want to post the link here..

We can lay hands on the sick and they will recover!! I can.. you can.. Jesus said!! We just gotta believe! what He said!

I am so excited that I see God placing this stuff in my pathway.. Oh how I want to learn.. I am excited that this stuff is available free to watch online by countless people.. and I am so excited in these dark days.. Mother, Police Officers, Call Two Strangers Who Saved Her Daughter's Life "Angels"
by Teresa Neumann : Aug 11, 2008 : Staff - WorldNetDaily
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=71522

Before she could thank the strangers, they disappeared.

(Naples, Florida)—The first weekend of August, toddler Meagan Durocher fell into a pool during a party for her uncle, Naples Police Officer Steve Walden. Meagan's mother, Kathlene, told Naples Daily News that she thinks two strangers who helped save her daughter's life were angels. According to a WorldNetDaily report, Meagan's body was retrieved from the pool after she had been underwater for more than a minute.

"I saw [her] within a foot of me," said Officer Walden. "That child was dead....purple (with) swelled eyes and swelled black lips."

Off-duty Officer Benjamin Vasquez, who performed CPR on Meagan, was also at the party. "She was purple as a grape," he said, noting she did not have a pulse, was not breathing and did not respond to the CPR.

Having difficulty performing CPR on a child, Vasquez yelled for help. Immediately a man and a woman—total strangers to the group—appeared. The man reportedly breathed for Meagan while the woman took her pulse for about three minutes until the girl began breathing on her own and spitting up water.

Said Meagan's mother: "I was hysterical, and someone came up to me and said 'Look at her, she's up.'" She said that before she could thank the strangers for saving her daughter's life, "they had disappeared."

"They were complete strangers to me," she told Naples Daily News. "I don't know who it was. I want to meet them because they saved the life of my beautiful, almost 2-year-old baby."

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

To all my priceless friends and Christian forums family!

Did you see that? God's workmanship! Now, put your name in there, "____________ is God's workmanship." You're unique! You are "PRICELESS!!"

Maybe you've been rejected, ignored, hurt, or used. And because of all those negative messages, you have this lie playing in your brain - "you're not worth much; you can't do much; you're not good enough." Just remember this "It is not others who determine what you're worth, It is your Designer."

Your worth isn’t determined by how much you make, or your job title you, or whether anyone asks you out or not - you ARE God's workmanship. Those three words, "in Christ Jesus", point us in the direction of our worth. In Jesus you finally realize how much you're worth. You don't know who you are until you're in the hands of the one who loves you most He paid for your sin with His life. He died for you. That's how much He thinks your worth! You are priceless!

A man was found in a dumpster. His case was reported on TV. A church member brought him to the Synagogue Church of All Nations. His buttocks are restored by the power of God.

I am sobbing over the beauty of this healing.. how utterly horrible this was for this man.. like refuge thrown away.. Found in a dumpster with such a horryfying gaping sore.. But JESUS His Saviour and Healer picked him up and showed such compassion and love and heart touching mercy..

A stillborn Israeli baby who was pronounced dead by doctors "came back to life" yesterday after spending hours in a hospital refrigerator.

The baby, weighing only 600 grams at birth, spent at least five hours inside one of the hospital's refrigerated storage units, before her parents, who had taken her to be buried, began noticing some movement.
"We unwrapped her and felt she was moving. We didn't believe it at first. Then she began holding my mother's hand, and then we saw her open her mouth," said 26-year-old Faiza Magdoub, the baby's mother.
The baby was pronounced dead several hours earlier, after doctors at Western Galilee hospital in northern Israel were forced to abort her mother's pregnancy because of internal bleeding. Magdoub was 23 weeks into her pregnancy.
"We don't know how to explain this, so when we don't know how to explain things in the medical world we call it a miracle, and this is probably what happened," hospital deputy director Moshe Daniel said.
The baby was then taken to the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit for further treatment, but doctors were not sure how long she will live.
Motti Ravid, a professor of internal medicine, told Israel's Channel 10 that the low temperature inside the cooler had slowed down the baby's metabolism and likely helped her survive.

Al Thomas: "YES, YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS TRIAL"
by Al Thomas

"YES, YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS TRIAL"
I saw in the Spirit that some are now in the midst of a circumstance so potentially devastating that fear is drawing near. Others worry that they are beyond the point of recovery. Be reminded that you have a Friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24) and His adhesiveness is stronger than super glue. Do not agree with the accusations of the devil (Revelation 12:10).
The enemy has whispered to some: "You are a loser, a failure; you're washed up, never to recover, always to be known as one who didn't measure up to the call."
Some know what David meant when he said "no man careth for my soul" (Psalm 142:4) and Job when he wrote "My soul is weary of life" (Job 10:1).
This mess, this "no way out" dilemma can and will be turned around (Isaiah 65:24). God's view of what is happening is much different than yours. He will restore your soul (Psalm 23:3), renew your mind (Romans 12:2) and enlighten your eyes (Isaiah 35:5). Yes, He will deliver you (2 Peter 2:9).
Have all deserted you? He will not. If you are in the place of despair and heartache; do not turn away from God, instead:
KNOW THAT GOD HAS ALREADY CREATED A PLAN FOR YOUR RECOVERY
While you're having those occasional thoughts of quitting, keep in mind that God is currently behind the scenes putting things back together better than they were before you entered this mess (Jeremiah 29:11).
Some have asked, "God, how long do I have to stay in this valley before You do something?" That's the wrong question. The right question is, "God, how should I conduct myself while You are working on this thing?"
The timing is up to God (and the attitude is up to you), but I'll tell you this: It will take no longer than it has to. Not one second longer. God takes no pleasure in you going through this and seeing you suffer. Yet, He will not waste one of your tears (Isaiah 25:8).
THE DEVIL HAS SAID, "YOU HAVE BLOWN IT BEYOND REPAIR"...THAT IS A LIE
No matter what the obstacles, no matter how many times you have failed, no matter how big the pit you have fallen into, His plan for your recovery is sure (Isaiah 65:24).
Feel like you're being chased by giants? God doesn't lie and He has promised to deliver you even if giants with twelve fingers and twelve toes are chasing you (2 Samuel 21:22).
"He shall deliver thee in six troubles; yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee" (Job 5:19). "Six troubles, yea even seven" is a Biblical idiom or phrase that means no matter how many troubles (i.e. ka-Zillions) He will deliver you. Get that in your head.
KNOW THAT GOD'S PLAN FOR YOUR RECOVERY IS FOOLPROOF
As soon as Peter denied Jesus (John 18:25), God had a plan for Peter's restoration (John 21:17). This wasn't the first time Peter blew it, and it wouldn't be the last; so it is with each of us (Romans 7:19). God knew it was going to happen long ago and He made provision for it. You're not going under, you're going through.
Come high water, come fire or come all the demons of hell, the Lord will deliver you.
David wrote "Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through the fire and through the water: but Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place" (Psalm 66:12).
This word wealthy means "rich fulfillment." Even though the enemy (and even your own mistakes) may have drained you of hope and strength, God will again bring the rich fullness of His presence into your life. There is no "ifs," "ands," or "buts" about it. He will do it. Why? He's so madly in love with you it's beyond your comprehension (Romans 8:35-39).
RECOGNIZE THAT HIS ANSWER IS ON THE WAY - EVEN AT THE DOOR
When we get discouraged and satan tells us the situation is hopeless, we need to resist (James 4:7) and take a stand (Ephesians 6:13). Remember though, no one overcomes by sitting down. Whatever you do, don't start sulking all day and feeling sorry for yourself. Stop with the "shoulda, coulda, woulda" stuff, dust yourself off and get back to the business of the Kingdom.
Don't try to figure out how He will help you. Don't imagine that suddenly He will say, "Abra Kadabra," like Houdini. Oh, yes, He could do an instant miracle and just might, but He wants you to trust Him to do it His way no matter what that may be.
Paul was stoned (and this was on a good day). His friends supposed he was dead (Acts 14:19-21), but the next day he was on the road to preach the Gospel. Some of you feel like you have been stoned, but you will get up like nothing happened.
The enemy likes to whisper to you that things will not change or turn around. Do not listen to him or anyone who speaks with unbelief. Like a bolt of lightning it will hit you that Jesus won the battle for you and you are called to be a conqueror with Him (Romans 8:37).
No, you may not feel like a conqueror right now, but Jesus has passed the baton to me and you (John 20:21) and He did not promise feelings would always accompany the call.
Rejoice, in all the pain, bewilderment and inner turmoil, God is working to reverse the circumstance and use it for your re-commissioning. You, who thought you were unfit, will re-emerge stronger than ever and the devil will see his work backfire.
Stand up...the horizon is before you. The dawn breaks. Victory is coming and you are one of His warriors!

The Empty Egg

Author Unknown

Jeremy was born with a twisted body and a slow mind. At the age of 12 he was still in second grade, seemingly unable to learn. His teacher, Doris Miller, often became exasperated with him. He would squirm in his seat, drool, and make grunting noises. At other times, he spoke clearly and distinctly, as if a spot of light had penetrated the darkness of his brain. Most of the time, however, Jeremy just irritated his teacher.

One day she called his parents and asked them to come in for a consultation. As the Forresters entered the empty classroom, Doris said to them, "Jeremy really belongs in a special school. It isn't fair to him to be with younger children who don't have learning problems. Why, there is a five year gap between his age and that of the other students."

Mrs. Forrester cried softly into a tissue, while her husband spoke. "Miss Miller," he said, "there is no school of that kind nearby. It would be a terrible shock for Jeremy if we had to take him out of this school. We know he really likes it here." Doris sat for a long time after they had left, staring at the snow outside the window. Its coldness seemed to seep into her soul. She wanted to sympathize with the Forresters. After all, their only child had a terminal illness. But it wasn't fair to keep him in her class. She had 18 other youngsters to teach, and Jeremy was a distraction. Furthermore, he would never learn to read and write. Why waste any more time trying?

As she pondered the situation, guilt washed over her. Here I am complaining when my problems are nothing compared to that poor family, she thought. Lord, please help me to be more patient with Jeremy. From that day on, she tried hard to ignore Jeremy's noises and his blank stares. Then one day, he limped to her desk, dragging his bad leg behind him.

"I love you, Miss Miller," he exclaimed, loud enough for the whole class to hear. The other students snickered, and Doris' face burned red. She stammered, "Wh-why that's very nice, Jeremy. N-now please take your seat."

Spring came, and the children talked excitedly about the coming of Easter. Doris told them the story of Jesus, and then to emphasize the idea of new life springing forth, she gave each of the children a large plastic egg. "Now," she said to them, "I want you to take this home and bring it back tomorrow with something inside that shows new life. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Miss Miller," the children responded enthusiastically-all except for Jeremy. He listened intently. His eyes never left her face. He did not even make his usual noises. Had he understood what she had said about Jesus' death and resurrection? Did he understand the assignment? Perhaps she should call his parents and explain the project to them.

That evening, Doris' kitchen sink stopped up. She called the landlord and waited an hour for him to come by and unclog it. After that, she still had to shop for groceries, iron a blouse, and prepare a vocabulary test for the next day. She completely forgot about phoning Jeremy's parents.

The next morning, 19 children came to school, laughing and talking as they placed their eggs in the large wicker basket on Miss Miller's desk. After they completed their math lesson, it was time to open the eggs. In the first egg, Doris found a flower. "Oh yes, a flower is certainly a sign of new life," she said. "When plants peek through the ground, we know that spring is here." A small girl in the first row waved her arm. "That's my egg, Miss Miller," she called out. The next egg contained a plastic butterfly, which looked very real. Doris held it up. "We all know that a caterpillar changes and grows into a beautiful butterfly. Yes, that's new life, too." Little Judy smiled proudly and said, "Miss Miller, that one is mine." Next, Doris found a rock with moss on it. She explained that moss, too, showed life. Billy spoke up from the back of the classroom, "My daddy helped me," he beamed.

Then Doris opened the fourth egg. She gasped. The egg was empty. Surely it must be Jeremy's she thought, and of course, he did not understand her instructions. If only she had not forgotten to phone his parents. Because she did not want to embarrass him, she quietly set the egg aside and reached for another. Suddenly, Jeremy spoke up. "Miss Miller, aren't you going to talk about my egg?" Flustered, Doris replied, "But Jeremy, your egg is empty." He looked into her eyes and said softly, "Yes, but Jesus' tomb was empty, too."

Time stopped. When she could speak again, Doris asked him, "Do you know why the tomb was empty?" "Oh, yes," Jeremy said, "Jesus was killed and put in there. Then His Father raised Him up."

The recess bell rang. While the children excitedly ran out to the schoolyard, Doris cried. The cold inside her melted completely away.

Three months later, Jeremy died. Those who paid their respects at the mortuary were surprised to see 19 eggs on top of his casket....... all of them empty.
