• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have no idea how I'm supposed to meet someone. I guess I should do like Spatch's friend and just wait...

I'm trying my best to just wait. It can be difficult but just hearing her story gives me hope that it can happen.:)

We can do anything through Christ who gives is strength!

We'll get through it, then someday have our own story to tell and have our single friends be jealous over our stories! HA!

:D AMEN sista!

So, why don't all you people move somewhere where there are more single people? There ARE such places, you know. Even if you can't pick up and move tomorrow, you can start doing things that will allow you to move in the near future.

In 1989, I moved from the Bay Area to San Diego. I didn't know anyone in the area, I had just decided it would be a good place to live. I found a decent job, apartment, etc. within a month. The thing can be done.

I'm not interested in moving. I love my small town, and I don't like cities. Can't you tell from my CF characters clothes that I'm a hick!

I lived in a city for 3 years right after I graduated high school. It was interesting, but not the place for me. I was miserable while I lived there. Yes, I have tons of friends, and plenty were guys my age. But moving won't just suddenly 'fix' all your 'problems'.

I'm very aware of the option of moving. The difference between you and I is that I'm not just going to move to a new city and find a "decent job". I have my career here working for the state. The judge just approved parity which means we get a huge raise, it works out to an extra $12,000 a year.

I grew up in San Diego, and I know what an amazing city it is but it doesn't have a state hospital. And the cities that do have state hospitals I'm not interested in moving to.

Like Braticus said, moving won't fix all your problems.

AND just because I said I live in a smaller town doesn't mean that I don't live by larger cities. I'm only 10 minutes from San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly. Monterey is an hour away and Santa Barbara is like 2.

I grew up in a suburb near the big city. The only job going at the time was in a rural farming town. The first night of my holiday in the big city was wonderful - stuck in a traffic jam. "Thank goodness I'm back hiome", I said to myself.

A year later, I was dodging the main road of the small town, b/c there were too many cars from out of town parked there for the agricultural show:D (I had to park in a side street! )

LOL. The drivers in my small town are terrible. Guys that are used to driving a huge tractor with a double wide air seeder with a fertilizer tank, they don't know how to stay on their own side of the road! And then there are the old farmers...enough said! :p

In the next small town along, which was even smaller, just so as you didn't blink when driving through, they had one stop sign in the middle. Farmers would stop in their pick-ups/ute's/bakkies, and chat to each other, and all the other traffic would have to drive around them. (This is the MAIN/ ONLY road we are talking about! )

LOL....Yeah I know what that is like. Most people don't do it on main street, known where I live as "centre street". They tend to pick a side street just off the main road. Then you get about 2 to 5 vehicles all parked around while they chat it up! :p Even the high school kids are so bored that they do it!
