• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Idk where else to post this, so I apologize if this isn't the right place for this.

I lost my job and currently unemployed. I've been job searching for over a month now, but haven't had much success. It seems like everywhere has an open position, but few are actually hiring.

I keep applying but never hear back. This isn't even just more high end jobs, but even the big retail chains never seem to respond. I learned that a lot of companies like to keep a backlog of applicants, so just because they posted a position, doesn't mean it's actually available.

I don't think I am really good for anything aside from warehouse work, and I am kinda tired of warehouses.

In today's job search environment, using just one resume isn't sufficient anymore. Many companies have been utilizing software to scan for specific keywords for quite some time.

Therefore, it's crucial to tailor your resume with keywords that align with those in the job description. Failing to do so could result in not being selected for an interview.

Initially, this process may seem cumbersome, but eventually, you'll develop several different resumes that you can modify for various job applications.

Another essential step is to ensure your resume is reviewed by someone with expertise. The right feedback can elevate your resume and significantly improve your chances.

You might be an ideal candidate for a position, but if your resume lacks keywords or is poorly crafted, you'll continue to face challenges in securing employment. By focusing on these two key actions, you'll increase your chances of receiving interview calls.

Stay optimistic! Somewhere out there, a hiring manager is actively seeking someone like you.
