yeah, was serious. 3 times in a row.. sounded like my hearing was gone, heard one of those high pitched tones, and then it came back.. then happened again twice. ok the last few mins though. that was really strange

i hate when you get those high pitched tones only you can hear...

yeah, that's supposed cell death.. the last gasp of one... I get them every so often.. but never had my hearing go off and on like this.

I had lecturs this past weekend. My ears were a little blocked. Spent the whole of Sunday trying to decipher what the lecturer (with an accent) was saying.

yeah tini... i sturggle to hear people all the time i had my ears tested and i apparently have perfect hearing... but one of my lecturers last year said it sounded like i had a processing problem. however, i'm too lazy to get it checked out. too expensive Chances are i probably do, would explain alot and i have a fair chunk of the symptoms hehehe

I've had problems with my ears all my life. Back in 1996 I woke up deaf in my left ear, turned out to be an allergic reaction and MS trigger. My right ear I've had problems all my life, but never lost any hearing. What happened a few hours ago is 'new'. I've had the ringing thing before, but never felt like my hearing was being turned off and rebooted!

When you hear a ringing in your ear, a high pitched sound, and it last for 5-10 seconds or so... that's an ear cell dying. The pitch is its last gasp, or that's how I understand it anyway.

Sounds wierd. I also get the ringing in my ears every now and then. Makes sense about a cell giving up!
I think we understand so little about our bodies - arne't they such a complex thing - just had to have been created!
