I personnally don't like Eminem too much. I think that listening to any secular music can be dangerous. That is because the music can put you in the mindset of doing certain sins and lead you away from Christ. I'm not saying don't listen to secular music(I'm listening to Sublime right now), just be very careful.

Here's a funny quote from the Offspring:
Ladies and gentlemen
Welcome to the disclaimer
That's right, the disclaimer

This American apple pie institution
Known as parental discretion
Will cleanse any sense of innuendo or sarcasm
From the lyrics that might actually make you think
And will also insult your intelligence at the same time

So protect your family.
This album contains explicit depictions
Of things which are real.
These real things are commonly known as life.
So, if it sounds sarcastic, don't take it seriously.
If it sounds dangerous,
Do not try this at home or at all.
And if it offends you, just don't listen to it

I'm not a big rap fan, but I love Eminem. I don't agree with just about anything he says, but I think his flow and lyrics are ridiculous. He rhymes words that shouldn't rhyme. I believe that as long as you can separate yourself from the lyrics, and be mature enough to understand what people are singing/rapping about and make your own decisions, then there's nothing wrong with secular music.

Eminem is a mastermind of rap. His style is origional and his lyrics are tricky. He is also very real which makes him very contriversial. Personally, while I don't like 99.9% of any rap music, I love a lot of his stuff. It's very fresh and really puts you in his perspective. That's my thought speaking as a musician.

I do however think his music requires a level of maturity because of the content. It's all a personal thing when it comes to that because everyone is different. I can easily listen to things like Manson and not be affected where others can't handle it. It just depends where your strengths are.

Im not going to condem him, he needs to be reached out to just like any other non christian.

i like eminem

i don't think its wrong of him to share about his life in his music

he sings about people who don't have a voice. he sings about people who have had hard lives. he had a hard life. why is it wrong to talk about what a hard life a person had?

i don't think he's advocating people to have a horrible life like he did. he's just talking about what it is like to go through it. what's so wrong about that?

i dont listen to eminem that much but from what i've heard of his he is very talented the way he writes the lyrics and performs them. However his lyrics are, in general, the types of things i dont really want to be exposing myself to which is why i dont listen to him. Safer to stay away than risk being exposed subconsciously.

He's "pure evil," and "stay away from him," eh? And what were you before you met the Lord? And what are you without Christ's blood? Was Jesus' sacrifice not enough to cover Marshall Mathers' sins as well as yours? Do you really think you are so much better than he is? Sin is sin, my friend. What if God had said to Himself those very things about you? "She is pure evil. I should stay away from her and avoid her like the plague." How can you sit there and condemn this man with your words like that? Would Jesus condemn him or would he forgive him?
